The Truth About 2nd Niger Bridge by Decency2020(f): 10:41am On Feb 18, 2022 |
Before now some riff raffs have been peddling falsehood about the 2nd niger bridge, How Jonathan used it to gyp the easterners but never put any structure on ground. Some attribute the work progress there to this senile man at aso rock. to the point that some are even saying the bridge should be named after him. God forbid. But the ignorance they say is a disease.. For the records, the people who are going to use the bridge will pay for it but the federal government has a paltry sum to contribute and Jonathan has paid 71% of what the federal government should pay. Hear it and know the truth. Cc lalasticlala Mynd44 https://dailypost.ng/2018/04/14/doyin-okupe-makes-15-shocking-revelations-second-niger-bridge/?amp=1 Doyin Okupe, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has shared 15 revelations about the Second Niger Bridge. Quoting Chidi Cali, a Facebook user, in a post entitled: “GEJ, Buhari & The People,” Okupe said, [1] The Bridge is NOT Being Constructed by the FGN. [2] It’s a PPP Project which the FGN contributes a tiny fraction. [3] The 2nd Niger Bridge Will Cost about N117 billion. [4] Started in 2013 and should have been completed in 2017, but worked stopped for 31 months. Completion date Not certain now. [5] FGN share of the Cost is N30billion. Jonathan through the Sure-P paid N21.2billion (71%) including N7billion for the completion of preparatory work (Phase 1). [6] 38% of the work has been done as at Jan 2015. [7] The N140b Oshiomhole said was wasted on Admin cost on the bridge was a lie, as admin cost will not be higher the to cost of the whole project. [8] Buhari’s Govt Paid N2billion NOT $2billion as Osinbajo said during the Anambra state election. They will be paying another N3.05 when 2018 budget is approved. [9] Work has restarted in earnest at the site and about 5%-7% has been completed bring the total completed work to about 43% to 45% according to an engineer I spoke to. [10] All the pictures flying all over the internet are pictures of work-in-progress made during the 1st quarter of 2015. [11] In summary Jonathan Govt have paid 71% of FGN share of the cost, While Buhari’s govt has paid 6.1%. [12] Julius Berger, the Major Contractor and Construction company will put Toll Gate on Completion of the Bridge to cover their cost. [13] The Construction Company is Funding the Project and the People using the Bridge will bear the cost via Toll Charges. [14] The real People building the Bride are Nigerians that will use the Bridge, as they will REPAY the cost to Julius Berger. [15] For those celebrating Politicians and sharing old or fake pictures of 2nd Niger Bridge, the #Facts are Not on your side

This administration simply has better propaganda which is why a lot of people overlook the work done pre-May, 2015... That said, GEJ should have done better by ensuring the work progressed at a faster pace... |

Facts don't lie. I wish they adopt same procedure to build a rail way from Ogoja-Abakaliki to Enugu -Awka-Onitsha-Asaba-Benin-Ore-Shagamu-Lagos. This is the main Eastern Rail line, not the one built to transport raw materials to the port for shipping to overseas by the colonial government.

This is just more propaganda dressed up as facts Simple question 1. What is the total cost of the bridge 2. How much many did Goodluck Jonathan Pay 3. To whom did Jonathan pay this money and by what date 4. It is said that this is a PPP who are the partners and what are the terms of the deal Where is the evidence These are straightforward questions that do not need debate just answers |

aribisala0: The last time I checked 2015 ended on Dec. 31 but he was not in office by then so what are you talking about? Moreover the word deliver is an ambiguous word so it depends on what he meant. Paying 71% of the government share of the project is deliver |

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan yesterday assured the people of the South-East geo-political zone that his government would ensure the completion of the second Niger Bridge before the end of his tenure in 2015. The President who spoke when he received Ndigbo leaders, led by former Vice President Alex Ekwueme said the issue of the second Niger Bridge is to be given adequate attention in the next four years. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/09/i%E2%80%98ll-deliver-2nd-niger-bridge-before-2015-jonathan/ |
