AE-FUNAI VC COMMENDS CENTRE FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND EMPLOYABILITY FOR RESOURCEFULNESS
The Vice Chancellor, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi state, Prof. Sunday Elom, has commended the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Employability (CEE) for resourcefulness and productivity in the discharge of their mandates.



The Vice-Chancellor gave the commendation recently when the Centre presented some of its household products to the University Management. He expressed his delight on the activities of the Centre, noting that they had performed creditably well by translating their ideas into tangible products.

He equally thanked the Acting Director of the Centre, Dr. Emmanuel Nweze and his team for ensuring that students were part and parcel of the production process, thus empowering them with the requisite skills to be employable and self-reliant on graduation, adding that skill acquisition is the whole essence of entrepreneurial studies.



He further advised the Centre to ensure that their products are properly packaged and branded to show it was produced by the University, and assured of his continued support to the Centre to ensure that it achieves its mandates.



Earlier in his opening remarks, the Acting Director, Centre for Entrepreneurship and Employability, Dr. Nweze said the University cannot adequately fund every of its activities. Therefore, as a Center they decided to set the goals of noting only training students but also translating their ideas into concrete products that could be sold to generate revenue for the University.

He added that the Centre has the capacity to produce and supply office and toilet disinfectants to the university community, especially the hostels at cheap price, if the cost of the production can be made available to them.



He also used the opportunity to call for the continued support of the Vice-Chancellor, stressing the importance of collaboration with critical government agencies and the organized private sector in helping the Center to actualize its goals.



The Centre presented the following items to the University Management during the event: 20 bottles of liquid soap (2 litres each); 150 bottles of liquid soap (1 litre each); 25 bottles of liquid soap (0.5 litre each); 100 tins of toilet disinfectants; 30 tins of disinfectants (small size), 150 tins of disinfectants (big size); 20 tins of toilet wash 1.5 litres each) and 120 tins of toilet wash (1 litre each).
