Boys, 6 And 8, Drown In Jos Dam While Looking For Friend’s Missing Shoes by JPhilip: 11:20am On Feb 21, 2022
Two teenagers have drowned at the dam in Rayfield Resort, Jos, Plateau.

The victims are Michael Nyam, eight years, and Elijah Solomon, six years old.

Mr Gyang Pwol, an eyewitness, said on Sunday in Jos that the boys drowned on Saturday evening.

He said that they were both residents of Rayfield community.

Pwol explained that the duo got drowned while trying to get back the shoes of one of their friends that fell into the dam.

“They jumped into the deep water in the dam to rescue a shoe of their friend, unfortunately, the volume of water was too much.

“Before help could come, they got drowned,” he said.

Pwol who also confirmed that their remains had been buried, did not give further details.

However, ASP Ubah Ogaba, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Plateau State Command, said the incident was not reported to the police.

This is what happens when parents keep having children without considering if they are able to look after them properly. And in my opinion, the police should also arrest and detain the parents/guardians of these kids for neglect and abandonment , because it's pretty obvious that they don't really give a sh*t about the whereabouts of their kids

Very tragic. Small children trying to help their friend but we're unlucky in the process.
Rest in peace little ones.
