What gripe you got against plasmas ?

Burn-in is especially a problem on plasma panels because they run hotter than CRTs.

I fully agree with you. But the bigger the size of the TV set, plasmas are normally better.
If you intend to play games on the TV set, then LCD is your best bet. But if it is strictly for watching programmes, then plasmas are better. [my opinion]

lcd has more advantages over plasma. plasma consumes more energy. its all about choice but i will go for lcd, 3d would be better but the cost is still high for now.

you are very correct about burn in. Just check in Amazon with customer reviews for plasma TVs and you will see that it happens finally in all, and pretty easy, even wathching normal channels with just a sign sideways - all the time -

Thats why I think, LCD is better today

I have had my plasma for about 2 years now, and not experienced any burns.
Games are restricted to bedrooms.
I will also not pause live television or DVD's for too long, and by so doing, my plasma will last me longer !!!

you said you've had your plasma for 2years now. i bought an LG 42 inch plasma, but with all these burn in problems I've heard I'm getting worried. I've read on the net that there's need to break in the plasma for the 1st 200 hours to avoid these burn in problems but the all the info I'm getting is from 2007 and i don't know if the plasmas made these days require a break in. i want to ask if you had to "break in" your plasma.
