A former governor of Kano State, Musa Kwankwaso on Tuesday joined forces with his associates, former political opponents and those he described as “progressives” to seize power from the All Progressives Congress in 2023.

He also pledged to restructure the country, describing it as “possible.”

Kwankwaso, also a former Minister of Defence, bared his mind during the inauguration of Third Force under the aegis of The National Movement convened by him to actualise his political mandate.

The formation of the Third Force with the slogan: ‘Save Nigeria, Rescue the Nation’, came a day after Kwankwaso said the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party have nothing new to offer Nigerians.

Some prominent Nigerians who attended the event include elder statesman and nationalist, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai; Buhari’s ally-turned fiercest critic, Buba Galadima; former Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung; a former Senator from Kaduna State, Suleiman Hunkuyi; former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu; Alhaji Ari Gwaska, Senator Grace Folashade-Bent; Chief Solomon Edoda; Senator Umale Shittu; Ibrahim Ringim; Chief Paul Okala; Rufai Hanga; Idris Wada; Alhaji Ali Gwaska; Prince Nweze Onu; Prof. Rufai Ahmed and former Vice-Chancellor, University of Ilorin, Prof. Oba Abduraheem, among others.

Speaking at the inauguration, Kwankwaso, who is currently a member of the PDP said it was the collective desire of the movement to rescue Nigeria from the socio-economic quagmire the country is currently going through.

“The mission of The National Movement is to ensure that Nigeria shall be a land of justice, freedom and equal opportunities where all citizens shall aspire to achieve their lifetime goals and ambitions, to live in peace, prosperity, and happiness.

“Today (Tuesday) is a special day in the history of Nigeria, a special day in the life of our great nation and a special day for all those of us who are desirous of working together collectively to redeem our nation.

“For too long, Nigerians have been waiting for this moment. For too long, Nigerians have been asking for a way out of our current severe economic and political predicament. For too long Friends of Nigeria both at home and abroad have been looking forward to the day Nigeria shall rise again.

“I am pleased to say, the place is here and the time is today and now. Today, 22-02-2022, being both an ambigram and a palindrome, is consciously chosen as a historic day on which we the people of Nigeria, cutting across all social, political, religious and ethnic backgrounds and affiliations, are assembled here to launch this extraordinary National Movement,” he stated.

While blaming corruption for the challenges in the country, he promised a ‘Marshall Plan’ to tackle corruption and rescue Nigeria from its socio-economic challenges.

He said, “No aspect of our national development will progress without finding a final solution to the issue of corruption, nepotism, and lack of national spread in the allocation of resources and representation at all levels of government.”

Kwankwaso, who said that the movement was hatched during the 2020 coronavirus lockdown, also pledged that the principles of federal character would be observed and fully respected in all the movement’s policies and programmes.

He said, “For too long, nepotism and crass nepotistic insensitivities and elite selfishness have robbed Nigeria of the talents, capacities and opportunities of its citizens. TNM will resolutely take all necessary measures to ensure that hard work and talent are fully recognized and rewarded.”

According to him, the movement which has the aim of salvaging Nigeria from poverty, insecurity, wasted resources and untapped potential, amongst others, cuts across all Nigerians irrespective of social, ethnic and regions affiliations, adding that “It is our collective resolve to rescue our nation from this difficult situation.”

The former defence minister added, “We resolved that there must be a Nigeria first before politics. While some of us will want to contest, we must work together to rescue the country.

Agitations of many sections of our beloved country for restructuring and realignment and resource control. We believe that the voice of the people is sacred, the voice of all our people, together, is the voice of God.

“Therefore, restructuring the corporate units of our great country is possible and doable. As vowed democrats, we are ready and prepared to act in concert with the wishes and desires comprehensively of all our people.”

Other speakers, including Alhali, Galadima and Dalung who apologised to Nigerians and sought their forgiveness for leading the campaign for APC, told Nigerians to rise to the challenge of bringing about positive change in 2023.

Galadima said he was forced to apologize to Nigerians because during the campaign they did not promise that a bag of rice would be N35,000 and that Nigerians were not promised that they would be raped and killed in their houses.

Incase you don't know.

A Senator goes home with some 13m in each month as salary. That makes N156m in one year and N624m in a single term of 4 years for one person. Two terms come to N1.248b from tax payers’ sweat. This is probably more than what the entire civil servants in Bayelsa, Plateau or Bornu States can safe in four years. A House of Rep member rakes in N9m per month as salary. It comes to N108m in one year, N432m in a single term of four years and N864m in eight years for one person, almost the entire budget of a state at a point, going to one person for making useless laws for us.
The entire 109 Senators take N17, 004,000,000 -Seventeen Billion and four million naira- in just one year. That is enough to build a refinery. If you take into consideration 109 Senators in four years, you arrive at N68,016,000,000- Sixty Eight Billion and sixteen million naira. If I have that, I will almost build railways from Lagos to Jos. The House of Rep total N155,520,000 -One Hundred and Fifty Five Billion, Five Hundred and Twenty million naira in four years. Don’t multiply by eight years, so that you don’t cause hypertension.

Now the Constituency Allowance !!!

A Senator is entitled to some N200million Constituency Allowance while House of Rep is entitled to 100m Constituency allowance. It means in each year, 109 Senators collect N21,800,000,000-Twenty One Billion and Eight Hundred Million Naira while House of Rep members collect Constituency Allowance of N36,000,000,000.00-N36billion naira in just one year. This is crazy, in a country where Professors and medical doctors are not well paid. They even earn more than state governors.

Now, if each Senator collects N200m in one year-I hope it is once in four years- it means each Senator is at will to spend N800m of public funds in four years and N1.6b in eight years without resort to public scrutiny and each House of Rep member to spent N400m in four years and N800m in eight years without any consultation with the people. This is madness.

See them, trying to recycle themselves. The phrase "third force" has been abused by our politicians. Ideally, third force means an entirely new set of political players propagating a totally different and unconventional political ideology.
Their entrance thus gives the electorate a real alternative.
All these recycled wastrels should go and sit down.

Very good. These guys would end up taking a chunk of Northern vote from APC in 2023, APC Northern supporters would be reduced.

What happened to Tunibu/Kwankwoso collabo.?

As an advocate of Igbo Presidency, this is a win win situation. Igbos should fight for PDP ticket.

Kwankwoso on the ballot will reduce the numbers APC will get from the north, if he then chooses a Southwesterner as his running mate then SW vote will be shared evenly between APC,PDP and the third force. SS/SE is a sure bloc votes for any Igbo man that PDP present. In the north statets like Benue, Plateau, Taraba, FCT, always go with the PDP.

17 billion naira cannot build a refinery

At best 1 to 4 billion dollars or about 400 billion naira to 1600 billion naira would get you started.

Dangote spent at least 10 billion dollars or 4000 billion naira on his refinery.

#NorthCheckmate

El-rufai just revealed yesterday that there would be opposite swap of all positions held by regions citing equity and fairness

Everybody agreed without asking about what the various political blocks would get in the swap.

Since president is zoned to south, ACN group can not lay any hand to president since it was VP before

It therefore means there would be simple consensus agreement that (npdp,ANPP,Apga) block would produce the south president for complete equity and fairness

From npdp, ANPP, Apga NPDP contributed most and only one southern man remains key in that npdp in APC today

If you agree with consesus swap of regions but don't agree with consesus swap by party blocks you are enemy of the party and can be suspended

This 3rd force is a major blow to PDP 2023 ambition .
Majority of the 3rd comprises of PDP break-away members.
Kwankaso is a major force with or without APC/PDP.

There 2 things involved in the creation of 3rd force.
1., Atiku plan B for presidential ambition, cos his chances of securing pdp ticket is dimmed.with the governors now firmly in control of PDP structures, and the PDP Generals not backing any northerner candidate.

2. APC plan B to whittle down pdp structure, kwankaso is a big loss to PDP and a big Addition to any political party. His party will surely draw some of pdp Bigwigs to the 3rd force, leaving the party for wike and rest of the governors. After 2023 election the founders of 3rd force might defect to Apc.

PDP might be going into 2023 in tatters.

APC will be smiling by nowcheesy

Usually when people mention refinery in this context, they mean the large type of refineries like the NNPC refineries or Dangote refinery. Those cost money.

Modular refineries that refine around 24000 bpd ,assuming he meant that, cost 104 billion naira, more than the 17 billion he is calling
