The Presidential campaign of His Excellency, Dr. Bukola Saraki got a major boost on Tuesday when former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo criticized those of his own generation still contesting political offices ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The statement by the former President is coming at a time Bukola Saraki, a representation of the young generation of Nigerian politicians, is getting endorsements at almost every fora.

Chief Obasanjo, while reacting to a statement by one of the governor of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the southwest said that “such a situation is abnormal and shouldn’t be happening.

“The Murtala/Obasanjo group should be stepping aside. Whatever experience and knowledge we have, we should be able to give it to you and you should be able to give it to those coming after you, so that whatever you have, you are passing it down to those who are coming behind and not to start competing with you, but to make you have access to what will make Nigeria better.” The former leader of Nigeria noted.

In recent times, there have been calls on the person of Dr. Bukola Saraki to put to work his experience as a trained medical doctor, a former Governor and a former Senate President, to salvage the nation Nigeria from its woes.

The calls became more emboldened with the clamour for a young President who is in tune with 21st century challenges, and the former president of the senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki possesses all the qualities of a modern-day leader.

Saraki, whom we can describe as the darling toast of the younger generation is expected to throw his hat in the ring to run for the top job any moment from now and he is the candidate to beat.
