Minna Emirate Youth Association (MEYA) pays a courtesy visit to Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology Minna and present it 2022 blueprint.

25th February, 2022.

The Minna Emirate Youth Association pays a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology Minna, Prof. Abdullahi Bala. The team which was led by the President, Comrade Abubakar Pada was heartily received by the Vice Chancellor and his Entourage which had the presence of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic, Registrar, Bursar, Chief Liberian amongs others.

The President of MEYA, highlight the purpose of the visit.for which includes partnership, considering Minna Emirate on admissions, employment of academic and non academic staff, empowerment, drugs abuse and involvement of youths on critical peacebuilding efforts as Host can community.

Comr. Abubakar Pada, who made this known during the courtesy visit, said a conducive atmosphere must be created by the government and institutions of learning for the youth to fully develop their potential.

According to him, “the MEYA executives have been very prominent in efforts to promote peace and security as part of its mission to improve the well-being of the local community. Our action has helped foster a sustainable development mindset among young people in the Society." He said.

Prof. Abdullahi Bala while speaking said, The relegation of young people in the socio-economic space creates an atmosphere of hopelessness and distrust, systems and structures defiance, contributing to national, regional, and global insecurity.

He contended that the youths must be groomed for leadership positions, which would enable them to play positive roles in the future and socio-economic growth of the nation.

He also said"We will, above all things, need our younger people to be mentally, morally and spiritually prepared for the herculean but all-important task of making the fundamental change we desire.”

He further stated: “We will not need older people who have probably exhausted their strength and ideas in the course of existence. It is you, the younger people with fresh ideas and juvenile innocence, which can change the course of happenings in the society.”

In his remark, the Vice Chancellor, Professor, Abdullahi Bala, charged the MEYA executives to think outside the box by not limiting their solutions to the table of the government, adding that “they should think deeply of ways as individuals can contribute collectively to goals of sustainable peace and security in our society, beginning with the host, Minna Emirate.”

Highlight of the visit was a group photograph and presentation of blueprint to the Vice Chancellor.
