Cantonese: Which would have happened if the incentive was there Removing subsidy, price controls and allowing the market to set their price Or you want to build refinery and sell fuel at a loss and get paid subsidy money that does not cover the loss adequately and thus no money for fixing or repairing or even building new refinereis because no profit? Plus the subsidy money is what should gave been used for refineries if no subsidy. NNPC cannot bring in fuel at 282 naira, sell it at n180 to depot and depot sells it to market at n160 and expect to have enough profit to fix things |

Yet Nigeria yet to learn , they are still waiting for dangote refinery instead to build more refineries so that as conflict is raging out there nigeria will not relay on foreign oil to be imported into Nigeria rather we will export to over African countries and shun foreign oil... |

Esseite: There are levels of Sanctions. There are low scale, Medium scale and High level sanctions. The impact of sanctions and how it gives a country breathing space depends on the level of sanction. The level of Sanctions being imposed on Russia presently is a high level one. The EU, the UN, and the entire world are dishing out all sorts of sanctions. Even FIFA has impose sanction on Russia. Swift and other financial service providers are imposing sanctions. Sports and Trade merchandizers are blacklisting Russia. Russia will really find it hard to breathe by next month with the level of sanctions flying on them. 1 Like |

CharleyBright:Sanctions on Russia will still affect people all over the world too by one month time; Longer travelling time via air Longer travelling time via sea Russia will have no option than to sell their oil and weapons to terrorist organisations at a cheap price to survive. More Russian intelligence agents will seek recruitment in ISIS, Bokoharam, and AlQaeda to earn money. Tension and possible collisions due to false flag attacks will reduce air passengers. Gas, fuel and petrol products shortage in europe will lead to mass protest and riots because of massive inflation. Russian citizens start migrating to safer places causing more refugee congestion. Massive increase in smuggling in and out of shipments to and from Russia. American, UK, France billionaires with affiliate companies in Russia gets hit too as a spill out of the sanctions and global sell off of stocks will occur. 2 Likes |

SUPERPACK: You are correct to an extent. Sanctions always have ripple effects on global economies. Nigeria is already affected. But right now, Putin is ready for a fight, and we don't want anyone to engage him militarily and plunge the world into a World war. So economic Sanctions is the best way to bring him to his knees for now. He know the impact of sanctions, and he is bothered by the way the whole world is supporting it. I think he didn't envisage criticism from majority of countries and even within his fellow Russians. |

Shameless kwantry....... While in Ukraine their social services are running smoothly and you are now giving nonsense excuses about fuel..... while you deliberately imported rejected fuel with your hard earned foreign exchange..... |
