Following a request from Ukraine, Facebook Parent Meta restricts some Russian state media accounts.

Meta Platforms Inc. has restricted some accounts in Ukraine, including some belonging to Russian state media organizations, at the request of the Ukrainian government, according to the company’s head of global affairs, Nick Clegg, in a tweet on Sunday.

“The Ukrainians have also proposed that we restrict access to Facebook and Instagram in Russia.” People in Russia, on the other hand, are using Facebook and Instagram to protest and organize against the war, as well as a source of independent information,” Clegg added in another tweet.
