They carried out their threats before and would continue to if USA don't act

USA gives the leaders of those nations logistics to help curb the issues themselves, but if it gets beyond the leaders or become complicit, USA must intervene themselves for their own safety

Without meaning to justify US military interventions in other independent nations, the Russians are far worse & it is surprising that there are persons on this forum vehemently supporting the attack on Ukraine.

Russia has been heavily involved in destabilising countries especially during the cold War. They were the ones that overthrew a stable & pro-capitalist Iraq government in the 50s & Iraq never recovered from it till Saddam got to power. Russia supported insurrection in a number of African countries including Angola & Ethiopia.

Russia where the first to invade Afghanistan in the 70s. Russia is currently carrying out operations in CAR.

Some one said it is US that is occupying territories Russia is presently occupying south ossetia, crimera, abkhazia, transnistria & parts of Ukraine among others... but because it heavily controls information from its side, little is known about these territories.

The US & West are not saints, but the Russians aren't either & this specific war on Ukraine was not needed. Heavy sanctions would have sufficed to stop Ukraine from joining NATO.
