Ukraine would've postponed this war diplomatically, 'cos she is not ripe yet to go to war with Russia. Ukraine is fighting a defensive war. Since it started on Thursday, has Ukraine being able to fire a rocket/missile into Russia?. Has any infrastructure in Russia suffered any blast? If not, Ukraine should pls submit and plan themselves better, my prayer is with them though.

The difference between then and now is that while the Soviets acted with reason, the west presently wants war and will risk the destruction of Ukraine just to prove strategic point.

Russia is not even in a war with Ukraine, they're simply trying to correct a brother to sanity. An angry Russia would have destroyed Ukraine and Ukrainians would be begging now.
Stop saying they took Crimea, it reek of ignorance. Apart from all those places you mention being majorly ethnic Russian, they were forcefully merged with Ukraine.

The west sponsor a regime change by deposing an elected president who happen to come from eastern Ukraine(Donbass region) in 2014 and install theirs.

Due to this act, the Eastern region of Donbass which are majorly Russian speaking declared a breakaway state but Ukraine declare war on them and has been killing and bombing them since 2014. They have killed more than 14000 ethnic Russian.

Russia annex Crimea majorly ethnic Russian due to this singular act.

The break away state have been asking Russia to recognize them since 2014 which Putin just did.

I'm a student of history, I don't hate west neither Russia but things must be said and put the right way. What you can't accept, don't try to make me accept it.

There's so much disparity in the world which much stop.
