AgricBusiness is any business that has a relation to Agriculture. It can also be said to be commercial agriculture that is profitable. In the past having or owning a farm whether for crop production or animal husbandry was the major way to make money through Agriculture. In recent times, farmers and non-farmers are now looking for creative ways of making money from Agriculture without necessarily involving in the production process.
There are many AgricBusiness ideas that Nigerians are not looking into but could fetch them tons of money without spending on owning a farm.
Here are five of those AgricBusiness Ideas;

FIVE AGRIBUSINESS IDEAS THAT ANYONE CAN DO IN NIGERIA AND SOME PARTS OF AFRICA
AGRO LOGISTICS
The reason why farmers cultivate crops or rear animals is for their farm produce to get to the consumers on time and in good shape. This is why good transportation is important. A farmer that cultivates tomatoes in Jos, Nigeria wants his product to get to the market early because tomatoes are perishable crops and the more they stay without refrigeration, the more shelf life reduces. This will account for loss on the side of the farmer. If you tap into agro logistics and provide product-specific agro logistics, you will make a lot of money. Refrigerated vans are used for transporting tomatoes and tomato farmers will be willing to do business with anyone that is ready to reduce wastage by providing effective transportation that will eradicate loss due to spoilage.
Millions of day-old chicks are transported every Monday and Thursday from the South West of Nigeria to all parts of the country and also some parts of Africa. Charges are done based on the distance the birds are traveling and the breed of birds being transported. Let’s assume that 10,000 chicks need to be transported from Ibadan, Nigeria to Benin, Nigeria which could cost N15(Fifteen Niara) per chick is N150,000 for that trip. If this is done twice in one week, it amounts to N300,000. Let’s assume expenses will be N100,000 which will be lesser. It means N200,000 has been generated in one week.
Requirements for the business;
TRUCK
COMPREHENSIVE INSURANCE
DRIVER
TRUCK LOADER(one person)
COMMERCIAL VEHICLE DOCUMENTS

AGRO E-COMMERCE
It is a known fact that farmers need to sell their products and it is not a crime to help them sell in an innovative way. It is very tasking for farmers to produce and also find markets for their products, especially in Nigeria. If the headache of having to find consumers for their products on a platform that will also verify customers and farmers, it will make them jump on it. A farmer in Kano, Nigeria needs a customer that would pay a good amount for his products from Lagos, Nigeria because he knows he would have a good bargain. If there is a platform that could help in the marketing of farm produce through electronic means and customers on the platform will make unending orders, farmers would beg to have such a platform. If the platform does this very well, it could be a one-stop platform for agro logistics, secure payment, and packaging. A lot of money can be made from this idea that many are overlooking.
