A Kremlin spokesperson on Wednesday said that the Russian economy was taking "serious blows" amid sanctions imposed by foreign governments as Moscow continues its attack on Ukraine.

"Russia's economy is experiencing serious blows," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said during a call with foreign reporters, according to CNN.

"But there is a certain margin of safety, there is potential, there are some plans, work is underway," he added.

Peskov's remarks came after a question about a comment made by President Biden during Tuesday night's State of the Union address.

"Russia’s economy is reeling and Putin alone is to blame," Biden said in his speech.

The president also asserted that the sanctions in place against Russia thus far contributed to a 30 percent loss in the value of the ruble and to the Russian stock market losing 40 percent of its value in less than a week.

Since Moscow's invasion of Ukraine, Western countries have imposed harsh sanctions on the country.

But China says sanctions will have no effects on Russia. This is a case of two common criminals with one agenda.

I've said it before, Putin will regret invading Ukraine after the war. It was a miscalculated attack. I pity that tiny Belarus, for sending troops against Ukraine.
The Western bloc still remains a dominant force in the world. If they reject you, you're finished. I think their weapons of war is not necessarily Nuclear but sanctions, and it's more damaging.

The only power Russian has got is Nuclear! China should better be watching from the sideline and take caution.

Unfortunately Putin miscalculated and will be demystified irrespective what he does. And it does not matter if he takes over Ukraine or not…. It’s a dead end.

I strongly believe he took the decisions on invasion under influence of drugs, alcohol or spells. A revered strong man cannot make this kind of mistake.

Unfortunately the world needs folks like Putin to keep the west in check, as such it’s not to good for global balance that he miscalculated.

Almost every country around Russia would rather side with America than Russia.
