Lagos State Government has reacted to a viral video showing kegs of petrol being distributed as souvenirs at a party.

A statement on Saturday by Gbenga Omotoso Commissioner for Information described such as dangerous.



The official said it was blatantly against all safety measures and could lead to the loss of lives and property.

Omotoso announced that the authorities, through the Safety Commission, is investigating the matter.

The commissioner vowed that all parties to the reprehensible act would be made to account for it.

Very risky to handle fuel that way, could have caused chaos. Deal with the idiots...they don't know fuel is a flammable liquid angry

I know the celebrants were trying to show love in dis hard times bt such measures are too risky..
na only politicians dey like share free kerosene n fuel wen campaigning for election n dey dnt like competition..

I don't see any big deal in sharing most precious thing right now except the hazardous aspect of it,they should have shared it as people going out of the event

That's too risky and dangerous stunt... sharing it outside or not sharing it at all at that kind of premises could have been better

That is what is expected of a sane government. The urge to trend and chase clout in Nigeria is really alarming.

If this act is ignored we will soon see had drug's as a souvenir.

Stupid people trying to establish a case where there's no one.

The souvenir is distributed to guests with cars and they were mandated to turn it into the tank of their car before leaving the event centre.....

(I'm only trying to tell the celebrants what she will tell the government)

Don’t you understand it is extremely dangerous to even keep these kegs in a room or a hall? Anything could go wrong and petrol is no joke.
