For the first time in history perhaps, a hobbyist private drone operator sent up his bird to record high-resolution film footage of an ongoing firefight pitting Ukrainian soldiers against the might of Russian infantry, that went down along a strategically vital stretch of highway a couple of days ago.

The footage is so clear that one can see the Ukrainian soldiers dismount from their armored vehicles and fan out along the highway in battle formation while exchanging brutal and sustained fire with the Russians who also give a very good account of themselves in this frenzied exchange.

As mortar shells and RPG grenades explode periodically in the pitched battle, bursts of heavy machinegun fire rent the air and shake the ground, under the impassive eye in the sky that also picks out a few brave troopers sneaking up along the sides of the firestorm to relocate themselves alongside the enemies' flanks in preparation for opening fire from new positions.

Or Russian forces will not occupy Ukraine but instead Russian Leadership will seek to incorporate captured Ukrainian cities and oblast into the newly Russian recognized Republic.

That will directly take the stress away from Russia and a civilian administration from both DPR and LPR will fare better and find it easier to manage those rich southeastern and northeastern Ukrainian Oblast than a Russian Military administration that will be viewed as an occupation force

The Ukrainian war shows that cheap hobby-grade drones are versatile tools in urban warfare. Here is some new footage showing a Russian truck being shadowed by a Ukrainian drone overhead, whose operator was obviously able to alert an ambush team on the ground so that they could be ready to serve up a rocket-propelled grenade that caused the truck to crash after sending the driver to his ancestors.

This intense firefight was filmed by an American volunteer fighting on the side of Ukraine as part of the legendary French Foreign Legion. This footage comes out of the besieged city of Severodonetsk.

The following video clip shows the savagery of trench warfare, in which men stalk each other through zig-zag layouts of trenches where death can be round any corner turned. Watch as a brave soldier fights to the very death when he is cut off from his retreating comrades and left to face multiple attackers.

Numerous grenades are thrown at the sole defender by advancing enemy troops, and to his credit, he managed to hastily throw out two grenades to avoid their blast, before he was finally cut down with a direct hit from yet another well-aimed grenade.
