Russia has laid two requirements on Ukraine in order to end the continuing war, which entered its 12th day on Monday.

According to Mirror, the country demanded Ukraine to give up three territories and disband its army.

The Kremlin wants Ukraine “demilitarised” and demanded that Donetsk and Lugansk become independent states.

The regions have witnessed battles between Russian backed separatists and Ukrainian forces for eight years.

The Federation has also demanded that Ukraine recognise Crimea as part of Russia.

A spokesperson for the Russian government listed the conditions ahead of today’s peace talks.

How Can One Access News From The Russian Side on the Conflict With Ukraine And Not From Western Narratives We Notice Every Minute?

What does he mean by "demilitarize"? that Ukraine can not have a standing army? that's impossible na. I believe for the recognition of the breakaway regions, they could be negotiated under a referendum conducted by UN.

If it is referendum the Donetsk and lohansk regions will get that referendum
The issue will be demilitarization.it will not be possible.it will only push the new ukraine further to NATO out of fear which was the source of the war on both sides!

The independence of Donetsk and lohansk is needed to avoid that 2014 incident of political alignment and elections
Crimea already had its referendum and because of its position.I don't see Russia given it up.so it is either Crimea becomes a third nation or an autonomous state

The only thing Russia can do is to come to terms and draft a security alignment programme. with the ukraine
The Ukraine govt will be nuetral and consider Russia security first before it engagement.

It is a pity Ukraine has to come this lose but it is for the peace and safety of Ukraine Russia relations.

The problem now is that the new ukraine will need to work with it's neighbours since it has been reduced to literally nothing

Was it not just a few days ago he vowed to the French president that he won't stop till he takes over the whole Ukraine?
Was it not this weekend he asserted that Ukraine may soon no longer be a state?
As this conflict continues and NATO continues arming Ukraine and the Russian army continues suffering defeats and be exposed and the Russian economy and people suffer,Putin will whittle the demand to just recognition of Crimea,then further to just guarantee Ukraine doesn't join NATO for some years.
Ukraine has even a better bargaining position now than at the start of the war and would outrightly dismiss most of Putin's unrealistic demands because there is growing belief they can wear down the not so great "great Russian army".
