Texas police declare serial Nigerian suspect wanted as group offers $5000 reward

In two separate releases, Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department’s Burglary and Theft Division are seeking the public’s assistance in locating fugitive Nigerian man Kenny Osita Okolie, who is wanted for two counts of felony theft – by swindle.

Crime Stoppers of Houston is Houston’s top non-profit dedicated to public safety and since 1980 has remained committed to its mission to solve and prevent serious crime in the Greater Houston Area in partnership with citizens, media, and the criminal justice system.

The group may pay up to $5,000 for information leading to Mr. Okolie’s arrest, according to one release.

He is alleged to have committed the felony theft by swindle in December 2018 and October 2021, in the Greater Houston, Texas area. Before his disappearance, Mr. Okolie lived in Texas.

During both incidents, the fugitive presented themself as a licensed auction auto dealer, took money from both complainants and failed to deliver a vehicle in exchange for monetary payment, the police said.
