That's an electric power steering. Scan vehicle to pinpoint where you issue lies, also check alternator and battery if they are in good condition.

one did, but it was mainly changing of brake pads etc

have you checked the level of the power steering oil...Top it up

GS350 uses electric power steering. The system does not use power steering fluid since there is no rack and pinion accompanied with pump.

Not at all. But the mechanic said there's a leak that's allowing water into the car. I bought it last December and I have not had it pass over water. This is dry season.

I am using gs300 with the same issue. Please how did you fix it cos I was advised to get a new one which cost 170k

Your own is cheap. I was told 700k and to work it 180k. I spent that with workmanship. The noise is still there but no longer becoming stiff as before.

It’s not mistake if he is buying it brand new. Most toks in the market may be defective or have few life left in them.

I have same issue with my gs300 Av fixed the steering rack now. But they are charging me another 40k to reprogram and calibrate it before it will stop being stiff... Don't know if this charge is too high though

How much did you spend on yours?

It seems this steering rack issue is common with GS300. I have one with the same issue but I don't want to believe it's the rack to be replaced. I am thinking it's an electrical problem. At times it gets soft then it goes hard again.

I didn't change the rack, it was worked on since last year. The noise is still there and it's still stiff as before it was worked. I have been using it like that for over a year. I don't travel with the car.
