An export license is a one of the permits needed to carry on export business in Nigeria. In Nigeria, there are two agencies responsible for the issuance of export license namely the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) that is in charge of issuing export license for agricultural commodities and manufactured goods.

The benefits of obtaining the exporter’s certificate is that it paves way to access certain trade support services such as export incentives, export capacity building programmes, networking exporters for collaboration and exchange ideas and trade linkages.

Here is a quick means of getting one https://kudikonsult.com/how-to-get-an-export-license-in-nigeria/

The process for obtaining an Export License starts with registering on the NEPC E-registration platform and uploading relevant documents. Invoice is then generated and once payment is made the certificate is typically issued within 72hours of payment except queried for missing or wrong information. The cost of an export certificate is dependent on whether the application is fresh or a renewal and the certificate is valid for an initial two years, after which it becomes renewable for a period of one year annually. Physical collection of certificates have been discontinued and exporters no longer need to visit NEPC to pickup hard copy but instead are required to print e-certificate for their records.
