Lol.. I've not. It's going to be a gradual process ( weaning) so I don't experience a relapse.

Guys, please how do I break free from this addiction? I think it's beginning to affect me.

I have this bad habit of chewing dry garri ( ijebu garri precisely.) and this started some two years ago when I had this pica syndrome where I crave eating sand. I'll just feel like chewing beach or desert sand.

This makes me watch videos of the desert just to see the softeness of sand and those under sea white sand but I can't bring myself to chewing actual sand.

I tried edible clay but it becomes sticky in my mouth once I start licking it. So, I stopped.
Then I picked dry ijebu garri instead and since then I've been stuck to it..I'll just buy a whole derica. Fry it and start pouring it into my mouth. That's how I'll finish the whole thing. I can hardly go a day without doing this. Even after eating I must chew it.

This year, I noticed I could no longer see some Bible text clearly like before unless I take it far from my eyes. Initially I thought it was the Bible font size but after a while I began to link it to the garri.

Can garri affect the sight?
Please what can I do to stop it?

I've tried many times but I just find myself running off to get it anytime the craving comes.

I've tried using dry Golden morn to replace garri but it always choke me because of it's rough texture. Ive tried powder milk, it bloated my stomach.

Please what can I do. I just finished a batch now.
The best way to win the battle against addiction, is to inform yourself of the worst consequence of your bad habit.

Like for instance, tell yourself, do u want to go blind?

Act a drama about this scenerio and see your psychology adjust to proper cravings.

Then there are supplements you can take to conquer the deficiencies.

Too much of garri will definitely affect your eyesight, maybe you mix it with enough powder milk to suppress the negative effect on your eyesight.

I still feel your craving for this is because you like eating/chewing something at all time.

I think it's about 3k each, that's 6k.
Just budget around 18k per month for it.
That's 3 sets, cos they don't last.

Lol... That one will cause weight gain, don't you think? Though i already said it that I tried powder milk but it was giving me bloated tummy.

No, you'll be doing this everyday.
It's not push up, it's plank.
If you can hold it for 60 seconds, it will be effective.

Sorry about that. You're not alone. Just have my own dose before eating lunch now. Really want to break free but not easy. Tried once for good 2-3 years without smelling it cos I determine never to bring anywhere around me home. But recently had craving, bought like two derica of dry cruncy garri few days ago and about finishd chewing all in few days time. Reading ur write up shows I'm not alone too. Think will not allow it anywhere near d home once this is finished cos it's truly an irresistible addition wtout Which ur whole being is like being on fire. Determination not to buy or forbidden to bring home & abstinence, self control and above all prayers asking God for help and keeping urself reaaally busy and taking a walk really work miracle.
