MASSIVE RAIL INFRASTRUCTURE:...AMB TIMOTHY NWACHUKWU COMMENDS RT. HON. ROTIMI AMECHI


Amb Timothy Nwachukwu, The Convener, National Patrotism and Anti-crime Campaign has eulogised the Honourable Minister For Transportation, Rt. Hon. Dr. Rotimi Chibuike Amechi for his zeal, fervour and Patriotism towards making Nigeria a great Nation through his sterling Performance in the Ministry of Transportation.




Amb Nwachukwu stated that the Honourable Minister for Transportation is among the few ministers who have distinguished themselves under the President Buhari's adminstration with an unimaginable performance akin to that of a progressive patriot who is interested in the development of the Nigerian State.



He showered encomiums on Rt. Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for completely revamping the Railway sector with the modernisation of Nigeria’s railway, building of standard gauge rail lines, procurement of modern and faster locomotive trains, coaches and wagons, reconstructing of the existing narrow gauge lines.



Amb Timothy Nwachukwu said that Nigerians are witnesses to how Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amechi supervised the completion of the now functional Abuja-Kaduna Railway line, secured the contract for the Lagos Ibadan- Kano rail line of which Lagos- Ibadan section has been delivered with massive state-of-the-art train stations with an extension of the line into the Seaport in Apapa.




He further stated that under the purview of the Honourable Minister, the Warri- Itakpe railway line has been completed, while he is working towards making the Lekki deep seaport a dream come true.


Amb Nwachukwu also revealed that it is to the credit of Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amacchi that the Chinese rail company CCECC established a Wagon Assembly plant in Kajola for the production of wagons, locomotives and other rail rolling stocks.


He stated that Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amechi saw to the establishment Transportation University in Katsina state, a multi-disciplinary University in Rivers state and the training of over three hundred Nigerian students in Chinese Universities on Railway Engineering.



Amb Nwachukwu further commended the Hon. Minister for putting measures in place for the
kick-starting of Kano Maradi railway line, Port Harcourt- Maiduguri rail line, Bonny Deep Seaport and Railway Industrial Park in Port Harcourt. while the contract for the Lagos Calabar coastal rail line is in progress.
