Is APC Nursing A Home, A Cartel Or A Political Party? An Open Letter To APC Delegates By Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah

Dear Delegates,

Saturday, March 26th is what we call judgement day for the APC, the world would be glued to activities at the Eagle Square earnestly awaiting who the APC would finally crown as its national chairman.

As delegates to the biggest political party in Africa whoever emerges as your leaders would in no small measure shape our Nation and communities. The power lies in your hands to bequeath the Nation the best it deserves.

Therefore, your Congress is not just an internal affair of your own party, but it will affect the daily lives of ordinary Nigerians and their fate in the future.

Your decisions this Saturday would go a long way in planting the seeds of a new Nigeria where possibilities are endless.

We humbly beseech you therefore to act according to your best judgment and patriotic conscience.

Dear delegates, we hope that you can truly open your eyes to the dreams of Nigerians where the system works for them irrespective of status or creed.

It is high time your political party the All Progressives Congress consolidates further by effecting a good leadership that would impact positively on the party and the Nation at large.

Political parties are never our problems but the managers are the custodians of the kind of DRIVE the APC ought to be focused on in relation to impacting on the populace.

My names are Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah and I have the permission of millions of Nigerians that look up to your party for positive change in the polity to write this open letter.

We expect your party to present to Nigerians the best hand that is ready to propel the APC to the zenith of its progress.

Integrity is what we expect to be your benchmark in picking the array of aspirants seeking your support for the various leadership positions, as a political party that is acclaimed to look out for the masses then anything short of the aspirants not scaling the integrity test to the admiration of Nigerians should not be encouraged.

A party as big as the APC should have a selfless National Chairman who sees the party's interest as a collective interest, the APC is rooted in the welfare of the People and it must translate this to the common man on the street.

No organisation improves without innovation and creativity, the APC must produce a leader who is not only visionary and resourceful but also one who is Tech-savvy. He must be in tune with modern digitalization.

Your APC National Chairman ought to be a man of humility with great communication skills.

Our dream is that at some point leaders of all levels of the government will be elected through open and fair elections of one person-one vote and that government officials thus elected must be humble.

Only a party leadership that is grounded on equity and justice can guarantee such, we fear impositions of candidates and the negative impacts on our society, the APC must act in order by presenting only credible candidates to Nigerians in the forthcoming general elections.

Lastly, Nigerians yearn for accountable leaders in all spheres of leadership, be it religious, corporate or political parties.

Our humble appeal to you delegates is that you should look carefully at the antecedents of the characters aspiring to lead your great party the APC. The APC is not a NURSING home for retirees nor is it a home for the CARTEL, the APC is a political party that is centred on the welfare of the people.

This letter is coming in goodwill and we hope that you would not be an obstacle to the dreams of millions of Nigerians.

We believe that our dream is that of every Nigerian including yourselves.

Of the arrays of political aspirants seeking for the National Chairmanship position, only two can be said to not only possess the majority of these leadership qualities but also are free from any single form of corruption tag or controversies associated with party loyalty or betrayal.

We humbly appeal to you delegates to look critically into the candidature of Mallam Saliu Mustapha the Turaki of Ilorin from Kwara State and Mohammed Etsu from Niger State.

These two gentlemen greatly appeal to Nigerians because of their unique distinctions as characters who would do things differently.

Every leader must have an urge to lead, inspire, and contribute to the greater good of any organization.

As you leave your respective abode towards your onward journey to Abuja for the Congress we wish you a safe trip in good health and sound mind. As you work towards the collective dream of Nigerians we also pray that God would answer your individual dreams.

I am writing passionately on behalf of millions of Nigerians who look up to the APC for the actualization of a great Nigeria flowing with milk, honey and brains.

Yours sincerely,

Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah, Editor In Chief IReporteronline
