No, sanctions can't do Russian anything. They are bigger than sanctions. They have a very large Crypto reserve, and dollars reserve. The west and Europeans are only shooting their self on the foot.

Putin is a world power who has the backing of the Chinese, another world power. So, they can swallow even sanctions as large as our Sun, come out stronger and thereafter, sanction Mars.

Putin is just pretending that it's affecting him, to deceive the west into a trap. Can't you see that Russians now eat 6 times a day, instead of the usual two...

Death to Ukraine, death to Amelika, Death to Europe. In Russia and China, and North Korea, and Iran we stand, even though our dream is to travel to the west, and not any of the middle Eastern state. undecided lipsrsealed

Putin might be assassinated any moment. Their people aren't in support of the needless war. How can you invade a sovereign state who didn't threaten your existence in any way and be destroying their country? If he survives assassination, he would end up in life jail after his case is concluded at the Hague on war crime and genocide. He should go and ask former Liberian president who didn't even do half of what he did.

The way some people think is quite amazing and honestly we Nigerians just look at the surface without looking deeply into issues.

Cutting 40% of the on-roll staff with 2/3 pay is necessary due to the reduced flights in and out of the country. Should all staff be on payroll when the income level to the Airport isn't same again?

Even the European countries who imposed the sanctions are also feeling the cost. Their Truckers are on strike, farmers are on strike, jobs are being cut in manufacturing leading to protests etc.

The US own hasn't come yet, just wait for it. The sanctions blow back will be felt worldwide.

The point here is that even with the Sanctions, Russia will not change its independent foreign policy and will see out the Ukrainian operation to its logical conclusion. Furthermore, they will adapt to it and work out a means to stabilize the situation.

The security of a country comes first.

Cant dispute the fact that the sanctions are hitting Russia hard.
.
Staff will still be paid 2/3 and still have benefits. I hope we get to this stage as a nation one day where we respect one another no matter the situation.
You forgot that Russia Rubies has been devalued more than 100%. Now do your calculation.

i remember people saying why can’t Russia be like china that has all its stuff inward but what they don’t know is that same china generates largely it’s income from export . So Russia can’t export to everywhere but just few places which can never sustain their economy. If this sanctions hit harder than this Russia will be worse than third world countries.

Liar Liar. Rubles lost 30% value on Feb 24th when it was trading at 120 Rubles to a Dollar. Ruble has recovered and is currently trading at 104. That's not 100%

When the Putin Guy vex scatter everywhere and everything with nuclear and atomic supersonic missiles, all these grammar will be so useless. All the sanctions will be perfectly useless too. Its a game of war extreme measures will be taken it it has to be taken. All your angels and demons, saints and sinners would perish indiscriminately. The devil will keep helping you to fan your fire until it explodes in your face. 80% of these verbose idiot which I will prefer to call ordinary bags of blood will not survive these war. So senseless.

Some don't know this. Comments on this Russia-Ukraine crisis has made me understand how a lot of Nigerians voted for buhari. Their reasoning is based on sentiments and emotions and unfortunately, those things are the least considerations when it comes to national security. It's even funnier to see people who practically queue for hrs to buy fuel in Nigeria, keep yapping about how Russia would be done in few months time. A country that can afford to pay 2/3 salaries and retain other benefits despite workers being on leave, hasn't done bad in the face of dwindling income and all these sanctions. The Russians themselves have not denied that the sanctions has affected them but they are ready to weather the storm. So long as they they can provide food and other basic necessities for their citizens, they will be alright. The same cannot be said about Nigeria that isn't facing sanctions. Airlines are about shutting down, media houses are about shutting down, gtb has even reduced its working hours daily due to cost of diesel... But our people on Nairaland are more fixated on the suffering Russia would experience. After typing online with 100mb bonus from their network provider, they would go back to reality and hold stomach out of hunger or queue in the sun for petrol just to buy 5 litres of fuel.
