Recently there has been a clamour for more women inclusion in politics and in Cross River State it seems the women folk are not resting on their oars.

One of such women is Emana Duke-Amawhe an accomplished broadcaster and business woman.

Having had successful stints with popular news networks such as channels television, Galaxy television, Tv continental, Emana has returned home to challenge the monopoly being currently witnessed at the Calabar south, Akpabuyo, Bakassi federal constituency under the people's democratic party PDP.


Emana has come with a breath of fresh air, she will be the first woman to hold that position if elected after 24 years and with her track record she seems well equipped for the job.


The general feeling in calabar the Cross River State capital is that the electorate want more youth involvement in the polity and with her track record there are few young women more qualified for public service than Emana.

The Akpabuyo born media consultant has garnered some experience in the public service having served as member Cross River State economic summit and co chairman ease of doing business committee.

All these assignments have prepared her for the role of a federal legislator who will bring the needed change to a federal constituency that has been highly neglected due to docile representation.

With Emana Amawhe Calabar South, Akpabuyo and Bakassi federal constituency will have an eloquent and vibrant young woman capable of attracting key developments to the area.

If the PDP in Cross River is serious about winning elections come 2023 then it's leadership need to ensure that candidates like Emana are given priority as the party elects it's flag bearers for the 2023 polls
