I am not surprised. Apart from lagos state and Rivers State, Kano and kaduna states is far more developed than all southern states infastructurally and economic wise.

Infrastructure in Kano and Kaduna whereas Almajiri beggars litter everywhere looking for food with unbrushed mouths.

They feed on every leftover be it food or drink with torn clothes from NorthWest to NorthEast to NorthCentral(Niger, Nasarawa States).

If the figures are correct, it’s a perfect illustration, if any was needed, of how the Nigerian political-economy (put in place from the late 60s to date by the ruling Fulani hegemony ably assisted by the Yoruba) has led to a playing field tilted in their favour while disadvantaging others! Just the hydrocarbon-rich parts of Igboland that were sliced of with surgical precision and placed in Rivers state, coupled with the intentional exclusion of the south-east (then East Central state) from the administrative and industrial map of the hydrocarbon industry….just this singular act of wickedness visited on Ndigbo is enough to make a significant dent in VAT receipts from the region!
