You are ignorant. The Lekki deep sea port will be run by China Harbour not NPA or Lagos State. However, as Regulatory authorities just like telecom is being regulated by NCC, NPA will regulate the China Harbour.

NPA will only get 5% of the profit while Lagos the initiator will get 20% of the profit. The rest 75% go the tolaram group and china harbour the investors

Tell the Government in those state to be creative like Lagos.

Lagos State facilitated the creation of the Lekki Deep Sea Port. The Port is privately owned for at least 45 years.

Shareholding thus;
China Harbour and Tolaram 75%
Lagos state is 20%
Federal Government is 5%

Therefore, it's not the federal government building the Lekki deep sea port. They only have shares because of the law enabling federal through NPA that territorial sea belong to federal Government. That's the only reason that federal government is involve.

If you must know, Lagos state has many of such Private partnership initiatives she earns percentages from. While Lagos government is being creative, your governors are lazing around waiting for FG to everything for them.

What stops River states from partnering foreign investors to build rifinery
While they earn certain percentage from the deal. Lagos is not your mate.

Respect Lagos, Respect Tinubu the visionary leader.
Thanks for this post. States need to put on their thinking caps and attract investments themselves very much like Lagos is doing. Akwa Ibom is another state thinking in that direction - the Ibom deep sea port is unfolding while BUA's 200k bbl/d refinery is going ahead. When Ibom deep sea port starts operations and attracts shippers and other operators to its ports, Calabar, Warri, PortHarcourt and possibly Onitsha ports may still be there screaming marginalisation and underutilisation. Let them put on their thinking caps and do the needful

What happen to Warri and Onne port that we need to wait until Lekki Deep Seaport is ready.

The same way, we cannot make Warri and Port Harcourt refinery work fully, we are waiting for Dangote refinery.

Equality for our citizenry will go a long way to achieving peace.

What about Ports in other parts of Nigeria?

A nation with almost 900 kilometers of coast only has functional Ports in a narrow 20-30km stretch concentrated in only one part of the country is a huge anomaly.

Cross River State was creative and set up TINAPA as a free trade zone. It has not worked till today because of FG stumbling block.

So it is not a thinking cap matter. It is a political matter.

It also has to be a deliberate FG policy to have Ports in other part of the country work

Blaming others but your government.
How did the federal government stop Tinapa. Hold successive government Imoke and Ayade responsible why they abandoned Tinapa.

Tinapa started and inspire Tinubu to kick start Lekki Free Trade Zone.
You know why Lekki Free Trade Zone works, because Tinubu ensure successive governor in Lagos continue the project. Lagos Policies around the trade zone was consistent.
While other states abandoned projects once a new governor is sworn in, Lagos continues.

So if Tinubu imposes to ensure continuation, which dividend you are seeing today, don't ascribed it to federal government.

Lagos is working hard, please accord it it's right respect

you are the naive one...! are you aware that the Nigerian government can expropriate the whole lekki port concession..........that is how powerful and influential home governments can be! Ironsi pull down Regionalism we all sat down and agreed on, stop trying to defend his atrocity. Every other thing that Gowon and the rest did is secondary, the Major problem started with decree 34 ocustrated by professor Ben Nwabueze and forced on us by Aguiyi Ironsi, the fraudulent 1999 constitution as amended is a Unitary system that gives right for our ports, Niger Delta oil etc to be controlled by the government at the centre, that was what Nnamdi Azikwe wanted before Independence so he signaled and supported Aguiyi Ironsi to pull down Regionalism.

you are still lying.......military governments always rule by decree...especially the first few decrees abolishing civilian political posts and power....however when civil rule returns, these decrees are abrogated and are done away with but when you completely restructure it is harder to pull down structures like states, even a full-fledged military government will find it difficult to abolish a 12 state structure to revert back to a 4 regional structure.............the ironsi decree was bad o but it is Gowon that buried federalism! you know it but you just want to win an argument1

You think you can exclude Ironsi in the dismantling of the first Republic just because he is an Igbo man? No way he is the foundation of the problems we are facing today, he pretendes he knew nothing about the coup then he went straight to attack the constitution, he introduced Unitary decree making Nigeria non negotiable, you are blindly arguing that he appointed 4 military regional heads, of course will he be in different regions at the same time undecided undecided. This is Azikwe's interview after the coup stating that power should be given to Ironsi, even trying to denial that it was not a coup to show it was Igbo's game plan to upturn the style of government and introduced Unitary system with the aim they will rule and dominate others, Already there are massive Igbo populations in North and their have dominated the civil service also in the west, the only impediments is the political structure, at least we all saw Azikwe dragging with Awolowo in Ibadan for leadership position in the west, so the aim of the coup is to destroy the regional government and introduced Unitary system, exactly what Aguiyi Ironsi did, so trying to shift the blame is just you being dishonest.

Don't excuse the lazy governor with expropriation. Federal government can't just expropriate state property. By the way, the land belong to the state as enshrined in the constitution of Nigeria.

Even if it's so, at the least, let them bring in investor first, if Federal stop the investment, it will be on record.
