No you are not allowed to. It’s sad that you don’t have the food or the means. May Allah SWT provide it for you. But Ramadan is also a month of giving. A lot of people take food to the masjid when it’s time to break the fast. If you are not prideful or arrogant, having a food at that time is as simple as going to the masjid and collecting it. If the masjid around you doesn’t do that, look for another one. Preferably the one close to rich Muslims area.
A poor sahaba used to go to his fellow sahaba’s homes to learn from them exactly around the time he knows they’ll be about to eat, then they’ll ask him to join them. He doesn’t beg but he gets free food. (This is to make you feel better about your situation)

Also Allah might choose to open your ways for your devotion to his commandments. Mind you fasting the month of Ramadan is the only Ibadah for Allah. The rest is for you and your hereafter. Try my brother. May Allah see you through.

Also someone that doesn’t have food is not part of those exempted from fasting. In a perfect Muslim society, you wouldn’t go into Ramadan without anything as your neighbor is obligated to help you

The man should look for a mosque or a Muslim family they will be willing and happy to assist him with iftar meals and foods to fulfill his Ramadan fast obligations. There is no excuse to skip fasting because of needy situations of life.May Allah make it easy for all

Sariah definition of fasting is to abstain from drinking, eating and anything that can be taken to the stomach through mouth.
It is forbidden to eat during the Ramadan period.
No excuse, except for old people pregnant women, nursing mothers, travelers

Nope.. A Muslim might not neglect a compulsory fast out of hunger or starvation..

Infact Muslims are encouraged to take up a voluntary fast wen ever they hav nothing to eat.

How evr, if a Muslim feels the severity of hunger beyond what is known to ordinary senses..

Then he of she might break that particular fast on the grounds of ailments and Allh knows best

No, you are not allowed. As Allah that created by His mercy sustain and provide for you, up until now, He will also provide for you during the ramadan fast period. If you are not married, staying around mosques both during sahur (pre-dawn meal) and iftar (evening breakfast meal), you will insha Allah find more than you need in terms of food as donated by other muslim brothers. You are wrong. This is not hungry preaching. The fact that you think that then you need to work on yourself and your Iman. We all do sha.
Money is important but the right religious attitude is more important. If he understands the importance of Ramadan he wouldn’t say what he said. I’m merely enlightening him.
Nowhere did I say he should beg. Read and read through again. A good Muslim wouldn’t resort to begging as the Prophet Muhammad SAW said it’s better for a man to go into the forest and chop down wood, carry it and take it to the market and sell than to beg. Hence my story of the sahaba that will visit and will be invited to eat without him begging. But if he does beg we are told to give and if we don’t have, then we say it with kind and soothing words. If he goes to the masjid as some of us have suggested, he won’t be begging. He will be invited to take it. Or some will tell you to queue.
This is me putting myself in his shoes. It doesn’t fit but this is the best solution without any assistance.
But you are right on only one thing. He does need our assistance.
