Background

Senator Bassey is a member of the Senate. Albert Akpan was born on October 28, 1972, in Ididep Usuk village, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, to Chief Albert Robert Akpan, a billionaire businessman, prominent politician, and philanthropist. Chief Albert Robert Akpan was a successful businessman, prominent politician, and philanthropist.

The 8th Parliament of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was represented by him. He is a grassroots politician who represents the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District. Prior to this, he served as Commissioner of Finance in the state of Akwa Ibom from 2007 to 2014.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nominated him for reelection to the Senate in March 2015. He represents the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District in the Ninth Senate, which he was elected to in February 2019 under the platform of the PDP.

Initially, Senator Albert attended St Patrick's College in Calabar before transferring to the University of Uyo, where he received a bachelor's degree in economics in his last year of study (Second Class Upper Division). He went on to earn a master's degree in business (MBA) from the prominent University of Nigeria, Nsukka, as part of his quest of academic achievement.




Career

He went on to work in 1997, when he joined the United Bank for Africa's Overseas Operations and Customer Banking/Retail Banking Unit. He has worked for the bank ever since (UBA). In 1999, he accepted a position as Manager, Business Banking department at the Continental Trust Bank, based in the bank's Lagos, Nigeria, headquarters on Victoria Island. Following that, he worked as the Uyo Branch Manager for First Inland Bank Plc, where he was awarded the bank's highest performing business manager award for the South-South area in 2003. As Assistant Vice President of First City Monument Bank, he was responsible for the Akwa Ibom and Cross River States until being promoted to General Manager in 2007. He has also worked as a consultant. He was in charge of directing and supervising the day-to-day operations of more than 15 branches spread throughout the zone, and in his capacity as Zonal Head, he clarified and developed key penetration pricing strategy for the bank, resulting in sustained market share and growth for the organization.

Requirements for OBA Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification
Students enrolled in PUBLIC tertiary institutions are not eligible to participate (state and federal universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, schools of nursing, etc)
The applications of applicants who will be over through the age of 25 by December 2022 shall be disqualified from consideration.
Currently enrolled in school, but not in your senior year, is required of you.
Akwa Ibom State natives are eligible for this scholarship.
In the event that you are currently a beneficiary from another scholarship, you really shouldn't submit an application for this one.
