USSR lost more soldiers than defeated nazi Germany. It is called human sacrifices. Other minorities especially Ukrainians also contributed to USSR success not only Russians. There was no economic sanctions then . US and US sent supplies to USSR through lend- lease agreement.
Prolonged cold war between USSR and Western block caused collapse of USSR. The cold war lasted for more than 40 years.

India supplies 17% of the Sugar in the world. Western media is not targeted at informed people, if it was they could not keep the lights on.

Sure the war brought up alot of analysts with no fundamentals by siding either the west or russia to score a point but for me, the both have no chill for us so I can only analyse based on data available.
To start with,the war going is not necessary for russia considering the number of the russian soldier that have died so far and these guys are seasoned soldier trained for yrs just gone 4 nothing. Talking about macro economics, the war will have a devastating effect on russia economy for a long time to come with the west avoiding their gas in the future. The west apparently laid a trap for them with ukraine by trying the same thing they did to ussr with Afghanistan.
