The Internet Society's Purpose and Benefits Service Award in Memory of Jonathan B. Postel

During a virtual worldwide summit with Internet technology professionals scheduled for later this year, the selected candidate will be rewarded with a US$20,000 honorarium and a signature crystal engraved globe, among other prizes.







Internet Society Requirements Qualification for the Jonathan B. Postel Service Award
The award is given to those who have made continuous and significant technical contributions, provided service to the community, and demonstrated leadership. Those who have supported but instead enabled others in their work are given special consideration by the nominating committee when it comes to leadership.
To be considered, the nominee must have performed particular activities, works, accomplishments, and other criteria that demonstrate how he or she has contributed to the Internet and its communities. The applicant must also provide two references to support their nomination.

The candidate has brought a community together, founded a group, or inspired an existing organization to do one or more of the following things:

Make contributions to innovation and the advancement of the Internet.
Increase the size and strength of the Internet.

Community Service is defined as providing services to others.

In order to educate people about the Internet, the candidate offers their time for free.
They provide opportunities for people to contribute to the advancement of the Internet.
He and his colleagues continue to give of their time and energy to the advancement and widespread use of the Internet.
