Recently the presidential steering Committee on covid19 announced new rules stipulating changes to requirements for travellers into Nigeria.

Travellers who are fully vaccinated and children between the ages of 10years of age and 18 where also exempted from pcr tests effective today 4th April 2022.

It was chaos at many foreign airports as many Nigerian passengers and tourists were refused boarding due to a lack of update to airlines on the new guidelines. Children below 18 were requested to provide pcr tests and travel permits which can only be obtained after paying NGN90,000 to the Nigerian government. Vaccinated passengers were told to provide fit to travel certificates which many attempted to quickly get but the Nigerian website was not updated until this morning and payment/ pcr tests also demanded. Even the site had ambiguous information.

For once I felt embarrassed being a Nigerian as the website was only updated today with an announcement made a fortnight ago. I met a dude who lost £6,000 on tickets but the most painful was seeing his little kids weep as they have been looking forward to visiting. I wish they knew the kind of country they were crying about.

Nigeria is a failed nation.

This is really painful. Two weeks notice, yet they couldnt update the info on the site. Getting the men on ground updated is another thing.

I have been checking the site since the announcement daily, with fingers crossed.
