NIGERIA
The problem of Nigeria has defied all known possible solution.
In my Silver-Jubilee-and-a-few-years of existence, I have been aware of the various draconian unpleasantness bedevilling us as a nation and the trend seems to intensify as the years go by.
Right now, every Dick, Tom and Harry knows that topping the charts of Nigeria's problem is the worrisome insecurity challenge. Even the fabled blind men of Indostan would come to this unanimous conclusion.
However, the steady and vigorous fan which fans the ambers of this devilish fire is the spirit of ethnicity and religious sentiment.
This assertion is a consensus either actively or passively.
Take a stance: when aired on the news that Abubakar Suleiman from Zamfara was killed by herdsmen, Nnemeka Chime in Enugu would receive the news with indifference, because to him, "na dem dem dey kill deserves".
In the same vein, when it is reported that unknown gunmen has killed one Ifeanyi Chukwudi in Abia, Sadiq Dankwabo in Sokoto will just laugh it off and say "Nyamirai su na keche dan uwar su, ina ruwa na?" (Igbos are killing their brothers, what's my business?
People down South together with their fellow northern Muslims only get concerned when a church or Christian community or individual is victimised in the North. Same way, the northerners would only show concern when their fellow tribesmen who migrated down south are being targeted.
That's where the problem lies.
We keep silent in face of injustice and aggression because we aren't the victim. That's our greatest undoing!
We have a common enemy, it is called insecurity.
Let's condemn all perpetrators of insecurity everywhere in Nigeria regardless of their ethnoreligious inclinations. Until then, we are doomed as a nation.

It will always be about tribe. Loyalty to tribe and religion before country. Nigeria is an artificial country created by the British. It was never created to work. How can you mash up people who come from different tribes, cultures, Languages and religion and expect them to live happily as one without any issues? Has it ever worked in any part of the world?

This country is setup to fail either we restructure or we just go our separate ways otherwise there won't be any Nigeria to talk about in the next 50 years.

Those we elected as Representative into our legislative chambers are either ignorant of this fact or plainly denying for self gratification.
