Onyeuko who also gave an update on military operations between March 25 and April 7, said a total of 51,114 insurgents and families comprising of 11,398 men, 15,381 women, 24,335 children had so far surrendered to troops as of April 5.

Troops also neutralised scores of insurgents while 22 spies, 11 bandits and three logistics suppliers were arrested with 30 civilians rescued during the period.

All surrendered insurgents have been documented, while arrested ones, rescued civilians and recovered items have been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.

Also in the last two weeks, troops recovered one battle tank, five artillery guns, two GTS and three AA guns from the insurgents.

The air component also conducted air interdictions which took out heavy stockpile of ISWAP weapons in their depots between March 28 and March 31 at Bukar Meiram and 2km south of Kollaram. To be promoted to the rank of a colonel based on an order from the presidency.

Repentant terrorists are being given 5-star treatment while soldiers at the war front are feeding from crumbs

How do you call someone who runs out of bullet repentant? I have since understood that the military are indirectly staying in power by refusing to end insecurity in the country.

I didn't know if the army is the foolish one or Buhari but I know the 2 can not be absolve of complicity. Over 10 years you can not exterminate rag tag Boko with the gigantic budget to the force n you fools think I should applaud the capture of one miscreant. Well I am not fooled.

Do you think it's easy to defeat these kind of insurgents? America could not wipe the Taliban despite their mighty military.

America couldn't defeat Taliban despite all the hardware, technology and science at their disposal because Taliban know the terrains more.

They also suffered humiliation and defeat in Mogadishu, remember the popular movie "black hawk down"

Same way they flopped in Vietnam, to defeat person for him own terrain no be beans, but Boko Haram and bandits? The northern elders elders know them, and the Federal govt somehow sponsor them

If the northern elders and the federal government want Boko Haram ended,it will end within 6 months

Your last 2 paragraphs are often repeated myth. The bandits can be defeated but the terrorists? No way.

Why? The bandits are motivated by money. The terrorist by religion. People motivated by religion are hard to defeat. Boko HARAM does not just depend on sponsors. They also tax residents and motorists around the areas they operate.

Afghanistan isn't in the Middle East.

America went into Afghanistan because the Taliban gave refuge, to Alqaeda under Bon Laden. From there, they plotted the 9/11 attacks.

Without the 9/11 attacks, America would never have invaded Afghanistan. The Americans stayed because they knew that upon their exit, the Taliban would regroup and they did not want that. That's why Obama did not complete a total pullout of troops under his 8 years in power.

It took Donald Trump, who did not give a hoot about the Afghan people, chose to cut and run, not caring about the people of the country.
