A middle-aged man, Mr. David Olatubosun, and his son, Abiodun, are currently in the custody of the Oyo State Police Command for allegedly being in possession of stolen cars.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Baba Bolanta, who paraded the suspects in Ibadan, the state capital, on Monday said that trouble started for the suspects when a Toyota Camry car marked CV 756 MUS recently snatched at gunpoint in Lagos was traced to their Ogbomoso base.

Bolanta said that the suspects were arrested at Mikky Spot, Randa area of Ogbomoso.

He added that when his men searched the suspects' residence at Iyalode's Compound, Ogbomoso, eight other cars suspected to have been stolen were recovered.

The recovered vehicles that were displayed included a Nissan Jeep (CE 434 KSF), Toyota Camry (CF 256 RSH), Toyota Corolla (EM 562 ABJ), Honda Accord (AJ 681 LRN), Toyota Corolla (BV 848 APP), an unregistered CRV Real time jeep, a Toyota Sienna bus (BK 259 KUJ) and Honda Jeep CRV (DD 201 LSD).

Bolanta also said that his command had recovered two AK 47 rifles belonging to the police. He said the rifles were buried on a farmland in Ogbomoso.

He said that a farmer, Mr. Sunday Adeleye, informed the Police Area Commander in Ogbomoso of the discovery of the two riffles on his farm at Aaga village while he was making ridges.

He said his command had stepped up investigation on the two caes, assuring the public that the police would continue to live up to their billing of protecting the lives and property of the citizens.
