The Association of Ijobabalawo in Egbaland has inaugurated a formidable task force and 22 disciplinary Committee to complement State government's efforts to end the rising spate of ritual killings across the state.

Some of the responsibilities of the task force committee included re - orientation of members on special programme from time to time, to monitor their activities in line with the state guidelines and to fish out evil ones.

Inaugurating the committee at the Valley View Auditorium Isale Igbein, Abeokuta, the Chairman, Ogun State Alternate Medicine Board, Balogun Nurudeen Olaleye commended the initiative of the Herbalists Association in Egbaland , describing them as the best practitioners who seek the wellness of the people in the state.

Balogun Olaleye appreciated the practitioners for complimenting the efforts of the Present administration in the state without waiting for the government sponsorship before embarking on such a laudable Programme of setting up Task Force committee to monitor members activities.

The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, Commended the Association and enjoined others to emulate their determination to rid the profession of bad eggs in Egbaland.

Also, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi said he was impressed with their initiative and commended the practitioners for setting up the task force among themselves to curb crimes among herbalist and uncover fake herbalists.

The Special Adviser to the governor Dapo Abiodun on Security matters, Mr. Biyi Odubote, Commended the State Alternate medicine Board for its creative ways of coordinating the activities of the practitioners across the state under the Chairmanship of Balogun Nurudeen Olaleye.

Earlier, the Oluwo Ifa of Egbaland , High Chief Ifagbeminiyi Atada appreciated efforts of the State government on the strides to promote Herbalist to the front burner of the State.

Chief Atanda reminded the governor Dapo Abiodun on the pending pronouncement of public holiday for
Traditional Worshippers and Believers.

High Point of the event was the presentation of the Certificates of practice to the over 200 Babalawos' in Egbaland by Mr Femi Falana as legal Adviser of the association

If this isn't ironic, I don't know what else is. Same herbalists who demand for human parts for rituals, portions and charms?
