Govt, Kaduna to exploit gold minerals next year
The Federal Government has declared its intention to commence the exploration and exportation of gold and other mineral resources in the next 12 months. Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Alhaji Sharafa Tunji Ishola said in Kaduna during a courtesy call on the Kaduna State Governor Mohammed Namadi Sambo, that the administration of President Umaru Musa Ya'Adua had declared the next one year for the exploration and exporting of the commodities. He told the governor that he was in the state to seek cooperation of the state government and the communities in order to bring the Federal Government's intentions to reality. Ishola said: "In the next one year, we shall be a partner to Kaduna in the exploration and exporting of the gold mineral resources. The President is placing much emphasis on community participation in the exploration of our mineral resources. The essence of our visit is to solicit your active support and cooperation of the people." Governor Sambo said he was anxious to partner with the Federal Government through the ministry, both financially and morally. Kaduna was discovered to have a large deposit of gold minerals during the tenure of Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili as Minister last year.

Which kind of fallacious statement is that? How was gold discovered in Kaduna by Ezekwesili? As at the 1990s, gold was being mined by locals in Kaduna. It was the minister before her that brought it light where he even showed illegal miners in Kaduna whom he advised against to sell their mined gold at extremely low rates.

The same minister also brought the Igarra gold deposits to light too.

So whichever journalist you're quoting is on drugs. If Oby Ezekwesili discovered gold in Kaduna, then 2face Idibia discovered River Niger!

Is there gold in commercial quantity? Over the years there has been reports like this. This seems like an official grandstanding. You can't cover pregnancy with bare hands. We shall wait and see.
