Borrowing puts you in the lender's burrow. It's more terrible when you have a murderous prodigal in charge of the facility.
Buhari has killed Nigeria.

Like play like play to dey borrow don become Buhari’s equivalent of revenue generation despite all the natural resources God blessed Nigeria with. A failed carving-like-man with no vision.

Nova1988:
Even tho the way we're borrowing money is alarming, but y'all should know that it's completely normal to borrow and every country borrows money even USA, but the bad thing is when your debt to GDP ratio is high. Now what is debt to GDP ratio?

The debt-to-GDP ratio is the metric comparing a country's public debt to its gross domestic product (GDP). By comparing what a country owes with what it produces, the debt-to-GDP ratio reliably indicates that particular country’s ability to pay back its debts. Often expressed as a percentage.

Now what is considered a bad and good debt to GDP ratio?
A 2013 study by the World Bank found that a bad debt-to-GDP ratio is anything above 77% and a good one is anything Bellow 60%.

Most of you are already thinking Nigeria's debt to GDP ratio must be above 77%, but it's the exact opposite. Nigeria's debt to GDP ratio is estimated at about 32%, one of the lowest in the world and much below what is obtainable in most emerging markets. The funny thing is that at the end of the 1st quarter of 2021, the United States debt-to-GDP ratio was 127.5%, which is extremely high because it's not making enough money to pay the debt. That's why the US economy has been stagnant and is on the brink of inflation

So my fellow Nigerians it's not as bad as you think, every country borrows money. It is completely normal¡

Our journalists fail to do their research. They just collect a brown envelope to push a false, alarming narrative and then go about their business to feed themselves.

Interesting thread.... Nigeria's public debt 35% of GDP is lower than the UK, US, Israel, and even Switzerland.

Read it for yourselves.

Government is owing ASUU just a trillion naira and they're paying fuel subsidy of 4 trillion every year. Yet some people don't want subsidy to end cos they can't pay N400 for a litre of fuel.
