This article is inspired by a prevailing sentiment which is dangerous to our climes. Osinbanjo might have been nominated by Tinubu, but NEVER FORGET that these nominations came on the heels of personal COMPETENCE. THE NOMINATION AS VP is one curious one amongst the lot. Tinubu never acted graciously. He was armtwisted into it. But that, also, was because the man crossed all the T's and dotted the I's. Does that mean the man should never aspire to any position because of his benefactor's ambition? And do we forget so soon that the best of Nigeria under this administration was when Osinbanjo was in charge due to his boss' infirmities? 1 Like |

Fiscus105: Based on what ground do you think Tinubu can be screened out? Well, should that happen, the only thing that would make Tinubu calm down is if Osinbajo wins. Other than that, he will either strike a deal with the opposition or decamp to SDP to pursue his ambition. |

Junk and foolish write up coming from someone who is pained by this man's declaration or someone from Buhari's camp trying to absorb the failure away from d stupid dullard ND shifting it to Osibanjo. In as much as Osibanjo shares in d blame, but Buhari shares d major part of it |

The statistics are quite damning. For instance, the price of a 50kg bag of rice has increased by 200% from ₦10,000 in 2015 to ₦30,000 in 2022 while a 50kg bag of cement has increased by 150% from ₦1,800 to ₦4,500 over the same period. The price per litre of petrol, diesel and kerosene has increased by 90% from ₦87 to ₦165, by 330% from ₦151 to ₦650 and by 110% from ₦198 to ₦415 respectively between 2015 and 2022. The price of a 12.5kg cylinder of cooking gas has increased by 204% from ₦2,800 to ₦8,500 while a Lagos-to-Abuja flight ticket has increased by 317% from ₦12,000 to ₦50,000 over the aforementioned reference period. The official exchange rate has depreciated by 116% from ₦192.4/$ in 2015 to ₦416.4/$ in 2022 (the parallel market is currently at ₦590/$) while inflation and unemployment rates increased by 6% from 9.3% to 15.7% and by 24% from 9.2% to 33.3% respectively between 2015 and 2022. Whereas the Nigerian economy grew by 2.65% in 2015, it contracted by -1.79% in 2022 (Nigeria’s economy nosedived into a recession twice between 2016 and 2021 under the stewardship of Osinbajo). Foreign debt has increased by 268% from $10.3bn in 2015 to $38bn in 2022 while domestic debt has increased by 123% from ₦10.1 trillion to ₦22.4 trillion over the same period thus resulting in a 214% increase in total public debt from ₦12.1 trillion in 2015 to ₦38 trillion in 2022 yet with seemingly nothing to show for it. The Excess crude account (ECA) balance declined by 98% from $2.1 billion in 2015 to a paltry $35.8 million in 2022. With this kind of performance which is F9 (total failure) by any standard in the world, why did Osinbajo declare an intention to run for president in 2023? If as the man directly in charge of the economic management of the country, you failed woefully in seven years, what can and will you do differently in 2023? Advertisement" The above excerpt should guide Nigerians in making the right choice on the party to vote. The idiotic writer in trying to nail Osinbanjo ended up bringing out the hard fact of how their party APC failed woefully and should not be given any further chance in 2023 regardless of who they give ticket to. Osinbanjo cannot be blamed alone. He is not the Minister for Finance, he is not CBN Governor, he merely sits in National Economic Council with Governors to chitchat and advise Buhari. Whether he takes the advice or not is another kettle of fish. What it implies is that anyone associated with Buhari and APC failed government including Tinubu and Amechi should never be allowed to smell presidency of Nigeria. We cannot vote associates of failure to reward and reinforce failure. APC failed and all of them should be sent on retirement. Nigeria does not deserve the kind of idiots in that party. |

jaxxy: Don't mind the Cheap paid writer. Since when has the Office of the VP become so powerful in Nigeria for the VP to be so callously blamed for the shortcomings of an administration as if he were the C in C? We all know the VP is a ceremonial title in Nigeria. By the way, can we even excuse Tinubu from the failures of this APC government? Was he not one of those who deceived Nigerians into believing PMB was the messiah? What has Tinubu done to criticize this government on the numerous anti people policies? Even during the End SARS protests that Led to the shooting of defenceless citizens, What role did Tinubu play? Anyway thank God Nigerians now know when lies are being told. 2 Likes 1 Share |

ityP: Honestly, it's so glaring that they are using every means to tarnish this man's image. Claiming Osinbajo was head of economic team for 7 years is nothing but lies. After the 2018 experience of Osinbajo being the acting president and the sack of Buhari's relative plus many reformation under him, they were not comfortable anymore with the positive image of Osinbajo in every part of Nigeria. We all felt a big relief until Buhari returned to return us back to the usual hardship. The Cable failed to mention that in 2019, the President set up a Presidential Economic Advisory Council with Prof. Doyin Salami being the chairman. The Council was to report directly to the president while Osinbajo and his team were stopped completely. It is this same Prof. Doyin Salami that has become the Economic Adviser to the president this year, an upgrade from being the chairman. The Cable just chose to destroy everything they built all this while just for whatever reason or purpose this report was for. 1 Like |

All of this is nonsense. First they accuse only him of the problems of Nigeria instead of he and Buhari. They want to say Buhari is not involved. Rubbish. The writer is almost certainly a Muslim and a religious fanatic and want to pain Osinbajo alone in bad light. Another nonsense. The truth is that Buhari, Osinbajo, and APC have all destroyed Nigeria. All of them! 2 Likes |

Tinubu boys.... Truth is Osinbajo made moves within the period he was acting President that shows he would do fine as a Number 1. The fact that he is not even shying away from the responsibility of what has happened in the last 8 years shows he is a man to own up and take responsibilities. This is unlike Tinubu who is trying to blame this Govt and painting it black recently despite appointing the country's No 2,3,4 citizens. He also chose Lagos Governor, his wife as senator and his daughter as oloja. Not forgetting oluomo as chief of defense staff. He is acting as if he is not of of the most influential figures in the current ruling party and govt. If u blame Osinbajo for failures of this govt...how can u not blame Tinubu? The person with the unbridled ambition is Tinubu. He wants to own Nigeria for his cronies and family. That will not happen. He is unsellable. 2 Likes |

A nice write up. I'm not surprised at all about this epistle.More is still expected to come as we move towards the election year. You have done well by doing the bidding of your master and for writing for what you were paid to do. We need to ask ourselves what brought Osinbajo to this current position. It was simply because of his score cards and pedigree. He was preferred to others because of his sterling qualities. How come a man who is so blessed with wisdom is unable to perform so well in this admnistration. You and I know well that the position of VP is not constitutionally empowered to do so much as we would have expected. The environment in which he finds himself is not just conducive for him to make meaningful impact in the country. Nigerians,I believe will benefit tremendously if this man is given unfettered freedom to overseer affairs of this country. You can only get the best of Osinbajo if he is the C-in-C and not as VP because of cabals around him who are bent on masking him so that he won't be shown to all that he has the capacity and acumen to fix Nigeria. 1 Like |
