A 27-year-old man identified as Adeniyi Adeleke has been arrestedby the Ondo State police for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl for ritual purpose.

The suspect was arrested in Idoani, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.

It was gathered that the suspect who lIves in the same house with the victim lured her to his room and sexually assaulted her.

The victim was said to have reported the incident to the mother who immediately alerted the police after a hospital comfirmed that she was raped.

The suspect who was later arrested confessed to the crime upon interrogation. He added that he intended to use the victim for money rituals.

A ring and red clothes were found in the suspect’s room.

Spokesperson of the command, Funmilayo Odunlami, who confirmed the incident said the suspect will soon be charged to court.
