The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, believes the suspension of the strike embarked on by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), is dependent on the union.

Ngige made the comment when he featured on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, calling for the varsity lecturers to be considerate.

“It depends on ASUU. The ball is in their court. They should go and meet the Benimi Briggs Committee and look at what the committee is doing and make further inputs so that the work can be accelerated,” he said during the current affairs show.

It is not ASUU or lack of funds that is keeping Nigerian students at home but misplacement of priorities undecided

You don’t have money to pay ASUU, but you have money to dash to a terrorist ridden country. You can borrow money to build a train to Niger republic. Bunch of fools.

To the students out there, look for skills to acquire online. The world is a global village now and there are tonnes of remote jobs that can fetch you good income without a degree.

Don't let ASUU and Nigerian government waste your youth.

Imagine coming from the clown... And he want to be the President of Nigeria. Any Nigerian student that will ever campaign and vote for APC deserves the worst.

Before I'd always blame ASUU for the incessant strikes even though students are always at the receiving end, but I've come to realize mehn. Education has really gone to the dogs in Nigeria.the lecturer's are even tired. Let us wait and see what the FG would come up with. My problem with them now is if the give them this 200 billion , a year after when the money has finished they'll still embark on another strike. It's really a never-ending process
