The forthcoming APC primary will be a tough contest for the presidential aspirants. Three issues will likely determined the winner of the contest. First, Buhari will want someone from his Government to succeed him. We have already seen this pattern in states, where Governors are pushing for a successor from their Government. This is necessary to cover the mess of the outgoing Government and continue the legacy projects of the Government.
Considering this, Osinbajo, Ameachi and Ngige are the members of Buhari Government that has shown interest. Secondly, APC will prefer a candidate from the ACN bloc. This is nessary to ensure that the bloc does not pull out of the party after the primary. The nPDP has gotten the Chairman hence giving Ameachi the ticket will be an overkill. Tinubu is the leader of the ACN Bloc and will likely pull out of the party if he does not get the ticket. Hence giving the ticket to Osinbajo or Ngige will nullify Tinubu's justification for leaving the party.
Thirdly, Buhari and his cabal will want a weakling from the south that the north can control. This is the reason why Buhari will do everything possible to stop Tinubu. Osinbajo and Ngige are political weakling with no structure. If any of them get the ticket, he will rely on Buhari' s structure hence becoming a puppet of the northern cabal.

Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has visited the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Mahood Olalekan Balogun.


Osinbajo visited the Olubadan at his Alarere residence in Ibadan, the Oyo State.

The VP arrived at the palace at 11am on Friday




DAILY POST correspondent who was at the Olubadan palace during the visit gathered that the visit is part of the efforts by Osinbajo to realise his presidential ambition ahead of the 2023 elections.

The Vice President was accompanied to the monarch’s residence by the Deputy Governor of the state, Rauf Olaniyan, former Senate leader, Senator Teslim Folarin and Chairman of APC in the state, Isaac Omodewu.

Others are Senators Kola Balogun, Fatai Bihari Mr. Sina Alabi and Niyi akintola
