"STARVE THE TROLLS" Nairaland trolls are defined as anonymous individuals who post false accusations or defamatory remarks on Nairaland forum to promote a cause or to harass someone. Trolls are usually "paid to create multiple fake accounts to promote client and influence how other Nairalanders think and react on certain issues." Trolls are also paid by sharing fake news and negative propaganda, voting repeatedly in online opinion polls, and posting unrelated or distracting comments to create an illusion of strength for their supported political position or political client. Starve a troll campaign is a good way of cutting down the number of trolls who earns by DEHUMANIZING PEOPLE and DEGRADING THE LEVEL OF SOCIAL AND POLITICAL DISCOURSE on Nairaland and various social media platforms. One rule to keep in mind: once you spot a troll, STARVE IT. DO NOT REPLY. DO NOT ENGAGE. DO NOT REACT. Online trolls don’t only thrive in anonymousness; they also thrive when they get attention. You guys should be familiar with other monikers already banned. The remaining monikers can't be used to make any meaningful contribution on this forum apart from trolling. helinues: If youth are gainfully employed or are conducting research to develop something, will they have time for trolls? The last time Indians threw jabs at Nigerians, one of the Indian guy said that we are good at nothing except trolls. The time we spend trolling online can be useful in good forums that will develop us. When you are on tiktok, you don't need to be told when a clip from Nigeria is played.
