The Environmental Sanitation that was observed nation wide was also observed in the local government area where I am currently serving!

The flag off ceremony was carried out by the State Coordinator Mr. Dennis Gingi who matched into the local government secretariat with his entourage in an NYSC hilux van.

Before their arrival, the Corp Members in Umuahia South Local Government Area already started working so as to avoid the harsh sun peradventure the state coordinator don't come on time!

Few minutes into the exercise, the hilux arrived and the State Coordinator marched into the Local Government chairman's office where all other formalities were done; after which the state coordinator (in Red), local government chairman (in white) and the Local Government inspector (the woman) all took the cutlass and started the clearing then the Corp Members continued from where they stopped!

The reason for this nationwide sanitation and sentization on sanitation is that the last time some Corp Members were sent out to discover the reason for outbreak of diseases in various communities, it was discovered that these diseases were as a result of poor hygiene! Hence the scheme deemed it fit to sentize the society nation wide about sanitation and also help in sanitizing the environment!
