Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi state, has paid N100 million to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the party's forms to run in the 2023 presidential election.

This was stated in statement by Yemi Kolapo by the director of media and publicity for the Yahaya Bello Presidential Campaign Organisation.

Bello paid for the presidential form on Tuesday morning, April 26 2022, according to Kolapo, making him the first to officially clinch his bid for the presidency in 2023.

Kolapo went on to say that by paying for the forms, Bello's supporters may be confident that the governor's name will appear on the ballot in 2023. Various youth, women, and professional groups across Nigeria have been calling for the Kogi state governor to run for Nigeria's highest position for the past few months.
