We can not afford to have bungalow or even duplex as Nigeria's population continues to grow. Nigeria has one of the highest housing deficits in Africa. so far, only cities like Onitsha and Aba have tried in the aspects of going as high as 5 stories .
there needs to be housing regulations and Laws. At least 8 stories is climbable even without stable electricity. we can not afford to waste lands.
If these laws are implemented, most Nigerians will soon get used to Living in highrise apartments like in South korea,Japan, and singapore. must everyone live in a detached house?
There is no housing deficits.
There is lack of funds for rent and uncontrolled irregular distribution of population to urban areas.
Last time I visited a village, most of the houses are empty because the owner
is dead and the kids have moved to the city.

Even in Abuja, many houses are empty because there is no paying tenant.

The empty houses in Abuja are mostly mansions . We need affordable apartments for middle and lower class who are the majority. in fact most Nigerians can be classified as lower class. There's really no middle class in Nigeria. in Nigeria there's only upper class made of mostly politicians.mega pastors , middle upper class like those working at mobil and high positions in civil service , 80 percent of Nigerians are lower class.
and this 80% are continuing to marry multiple wives, with multiple concubines and side chicks and birthing multiple children. Then declare gawd will provide.

Hardship policies, clearing of the middle class, sick mind boggling levels of insecurity was designed and aimed at trimming the population

Nope, the empty houses in Abuja are not mostly mansions unless the you have
a different definition of mansions.

Those same "mansions" are rented out quickly in Lagos.

High rise buildings are not affordable compared with bungalows of similar amenities
unless you are looking for government subsidy.

High rise buildings cost a lot of money to build, because it needs to be built at once. Plus the massive damages they can do when they fall, again housing deficiency is not the only problem overpopulation causes. Quality of life is also reduced, more traffic, lesser land for farming and other necessities, congestion, high energy and resources consumption, etc. Most of these resources are finite.
What we really need is hardened amoral population reduction and control, the government can pass a law of not more than 3 children per couple, a man must be at least 28 to get married and a girl 18 or above to get married. This way it will be easier to educate, feed and house the citizens with a strong social welfare state.
