Many ambitious Northerners who cannot vie for VP or president now will prefer 4 years Southern presidency. Enough time for them to be ready.

Northern first and foremost interest is getting a Southerner they can trust to handover to the North again later. GEJ did so in 2015 and the North might reward him for it. They rewarded OBJ in 1999 for handing over to Shagari in 1979.

Southern politicians don't think that far back or ahead into the future but Northern elite do.

Although, there are Christians in Borno but not to the level of producing a governor like their counterparts in Benue, Taraba and Plateau. Not even to the level of Gombe and Adamawa states that have produced Christian deputies since 1999.

Well, you may be right. I have read in many publications that he is a Christian. Same way I have read in many others that Yakubu Dogara from Bauchi State is a Christian.
Although sometime last year or so, Zulum said that Boko Haram has all types of people as members. Including Muslims, Christians, Nigerians, foreigners, white people etc. CAN reacted strongly that there are no Christians in Boko Haram. I was wondering.

I guess one has to be careful about these things.

Dogara is actually a Christian and has been a member of Winners' Chapel for a long time. He was one of the donors to CU during its nascent stages. Zulum cannot be a Christian because there is no Christian representing a senatorial district or constituency in the National Assembly. If there is a Christian representative or senator, it means the state has a substantial Christian population. Notwithstanding the unfortunate butchering of Christians in Kaduna, the state has a senator who is a Christian and a member of the PDP. The same does not hold in Borno.
