While many schools may require you to provide statement of purpose, others specifically request for personal statement.
So, what's the major difference between these two?
Basically, statement of purpose deals with your academic background, strength and achievements, research interests, short and long term goals, and why you fit for that particular program,
whereas the personal statement showcases who who are and your personal motivation for applying to that program or any achievement or challenges which you faced and what you have learned from those experiences.
