We Don't Need a 4000 Page Vision 2010 Document to Transform Nigeria

We don't need a 4000 page Vision 2010 document to make Nigeria one of the 20 largest economies in the world by the year 2020. We only need one word.
HONESTY.

Honesty is still the best policy.

Only strict adherence, obedience and sacrifice in honesty and transparency in the public and private sectors will transform Nigeria into a global leader. And not a document of corporate conceit and deceit.

In view of the recent events in Nigeria with the freedom given to the governors indicted for graft and the fact that 90% of Nigerian legislators were all elected by the rigging of the last elections, I don't see Nigeria becoming one of the largest economies in the world even in the year 2050.

What we need in Nigeria is not the 4000 page Vision 2010 document, but a Jerry Rawlings kind of revolution to overthrow the corrupt ruling class in power and clean the Augean Stables no matter whose ox is gored and without sparing any sacred cow.

We cannot build a new nation on the foundation of corruption.
We must destroy all forms of corruption, from the street to the pulpit to the corridors of power by peace or by force
.

We must get rid of the devils, otherwise we cannot get rid of the evils.
Because, as long as these unrepentant devils are still at work in Nigeria, their evils will continue to plague the nation.

We must get rid of the devils first. And as Jesus Christ said, by their fruits, you shall know them.

What we sow, we shall reap.

Whatever seeds we are sowing now will determine the harvest we shall reap in 2020.
And as far as I can see, Nigerians are still sowing the seeds of corruption.

God help Nigeria.

What we don't need is a 350 word essay telling us we don't need a 4000 page Vision 2010 document to Transform Nigeria.

But actually we do need a 4000 page document to transform Nigeria. If Guaranty Trust Bank prepared millions of pages of documents during its years of insecurity to finally get to where it is today, I see no reason why Nigeria should not have at least a 4000 page document to indicate its strategies and plans.

Honesty is not a working plan. It is an ideal. Even if all we need to do in Nigeria from now till 2020 is simple honesty, there are means, procedures, methods agencies, organs, ministries, rules, staff, analysis, statistics, plans, rules, laws, cost, schedules, steps, principles, concepts, structures and framework required to achieve it.

People could be forced to memorise all of that and recite them by heart, but since this would take another 12 years to achieve this feat of National memorization of the action plan mantra for honesty, let's just save all the time and produce a comprehensive document.

Failing to plan is as good as planning to fail. If you agree that we need to plan, then you must also remember that in modern times, plans are outlined precisely and explicitly in documents. So documentation of action plan is necessary. Very necessary.

Thank you very much.

God bless Nigeria.
