A fast-growing beauty and hair care manufacturer, distributor and retailer based in Lagos, is looking for an experienced HR and Admin (“HR&A”) Manager.
The role involves developing and managing processes related to staff recruitment and retention, pay and benefits, training and development and general administrative duties. All HR and Administrative functions will be under your authority and you will report directly to the CEO.
The successful candidate must be both a leader and a hands-on Manager, with the ability to think strategically. He/She will fulfill the following job description:

Recruitment and Retention:
1. Create a detailed recruitment process.
2. Advertise job openings, screen candidates, schedule interviews and complete documentation for successful candidates
3. Create and implement a career track for every position within the company that allows dedicated and qualified staff to grow with and within the organization.
4. Create detailed job descriptions with KPI’s for every position and update as necessary to keep up with changing circumstances
5. Create an annual strategic HR plan that reflects the company’s growth expectations and staffing needs for the coming year as well as how HR&A plans to meet them

Training and Performance Evaluation:
1. Assess the need for employee training for each functional area and help develop training modules to service those needs
2. Implement period performance reviews for each employee and conduct year-end rankings of employees based on their overall performance for the calendar year
3. Produce a promotions and salary Increment plan at year end based on employye performance reviews and rankings
4. Ensure issues with employee relations are treated in a manner that is consistent, fair and defensible

Record Keeping:
1. Keep track of employee attendance, lateness, disciplinary issues, etc.
2. Manage employee annual leave schedules, sick days, public holidays, etc.
3. Maintain all employee files and ensure they are always up-to-date

Pay and Benefits:
1. Create and implement a compensation structure that promotes equity and fairness and rewards performance
2. Ensure the organization’s HMO and pension schemes are properly administered and in compliance with regulations
3. Ensure smooth and consistent implementation of other company benefits packages

Payroll Administration:
1. Coordinate with Accounts to prepare monthly Payroll.
2. Ensure that employee attendance, lateness and disciplinary measures as well as bonuses are properly reflected in the period’s Payroll

General Administration:
1. Oversee all administrative functions in the company, reporting directly to the MD
2. Provide supervisory oversight over key functional areas within the organization as delegated by Senior Management.
3. Work with the Operations department to ensure that the company’s facilities are well maintained and functional at all times, as well as pleasing in appearance
4. Manage the organizational supply chain to ensure that the company always has the supplies it needs to keep running smoothly
5. Periodically visit other company-owned outlets to ensure operations are running smoothly and in line with company rules and procedures

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration
• Professional certifications in HR Management and Business Management
• Minimum of 5 years post graduation work experience in a similar role within an organization
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to interact with and lead employees at various levels.
• Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Exposure to at least one HR or ERP software
• Must live within easy commuting distance of Lekki Phase 1, Lagos

Salary and Benefits
• N275,000 – N300,000 monthly salary
• Paid Annual Leave
• HMO after 6 months

Summary

Responsibilities
• Plan, develop and implement strategy for HR management and development (including recruitment & selection policy/practices, discipline, grievance, counseling, pay and conditions, contracts, training and development, succession planning, moral and motivation, culture and attitude development, and performance appraisal issues)
• establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of HR development
• Monitor, measure and report on HR issues, opportunities and development plans and achievement within agreed formats
• Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets.
• Liaise with other functional/departmental head so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of HR development, and to ensure they are fully informed of HR objectives, purpose and achievements
• Maintain awareness and knowledge of latest HR development theory and methods and provide suitable interpretation to directors, managers and staff within the organization
• Contribute to the evaluation and development of HR strategy and performance in co- operation with the executive team.
• Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirement for quality management, health and safety, legal requirement, environmental policies and general duty of care.
• Audit and authenticate all documents related to legal, salary statements and distribution, policies etc.
• Plan for employee’s performance appraisal; develop tools for appraisal, job evaluation and development.
•Plan and direct for Training of employee including senior managers, maintain contact with outside resources for training.

Qualification/ Experience
- Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields
• CIPM/SHRM/CIPD/or a diploma in HR/Masters in HR/A certification in any of the HR Functional areas will be an advantage
• Previous experience working as a HR Director for 4+ year(s)
• In-depth knowledge about local and international Human Resource Processes, employment legislation, and legal regulations
• Understanding and experience with Employer Branding and Recruitment Marketing strategies
• Experience aligning HR policies and practices with international best practice HR requirements, including ILO and IFC.
• Excellent knowledge of all aspects of HR management
• Experience with HR tools and recruiting software
• Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
•Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification (SPHR) will be an advantage
