Nobel Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka, leader of Ilana Omo Oodua, Professor Banji Akintoye and Prof Wale Adeniran met the Yoruba Nation Activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, alias Sunday Igboho earlier on Sunday in Benin Republic.

They met behind closed doors.

The Government of Benin Republic released Sunday Igboho on March 7 to doctors under an agreement that he would not leave the hospital or Cotonou for any reason.

He was caught on 19 July, 2021 by the authorities in Cotonou, Benin Republic weeks after Nigeria secret police, Department of State Security Services, DSS declared Igboho wanted for allegedly stockpiling arms, allegation he denies.

With due respect, it is wrong for the Prof to visit a secessionist, he just gave some credence to what Igboho is doing.

Sunday Igboho is not only fighting the cause of Seccession but he was also one of the strongest supporters farmers had while being attacked by killer herdsmen and bandits

Professor Wole Soyinka's farm was affected several times with his cattles carted away, I think the visit is in appreciation of his fight against bandits , kidnappers and killer herdsmen

Not just Fulanis, Igbos too are scared of Yoruba Nation. They are scared to leave Lagos and having to actually go live in the South East and carry Igbo Nation passport. Notice enthusiasm for Biafra has died down since Buhari's dot in the circle comment.

But what exactly is Sunday Igboho doing? Calling for an Oduduwa Republic from the British colonial creation called Nigeria? Thats known in international law as "self determination"

Its unfortunate that many Nigerians do not the difference between secession and self determination

Secession is when you unilaterally declare the independence of an area in a country without the approval of the government of that country

Self determination is when you protest to the government of a country to allow an area within that country to become independent and self governing

As an Igbo man, I like Igboho. If not for him, I would never have believed that there was any Yoruba man alive who had the guts to fight for an independent, self governing Yoruba homeland called Oduduwa Republic

When he was younger he was jailed by Gowon in solitary confinement for 24 months for visiting Ojukwu even though many Ibos did not know or appreciate.

In that sense he is consistent.

Secessionism is not a crime, indeed it is a constitutional right. You have the right to campaign to secede peacefully. As long as you do not cross the line.
If the government has a case against Igboho they should prosecute him. There was never any public invitation to to igboho or genuine attempt to arrest him credibly

what we saw was a midnight attack with two dead bodies. They arrested some people and detained them for months including a so called native doctor

Where is the prosecution of all those they took into custody? No case!!

let us not act as if t is a religion where Secessionists go to hell and OneNigerianists go to heaven and on that account start another round of beheadings.

If Nigeria is to last it won't be with the 1999 constitution that was written by the Northern military giving the North 19 states and hundreds of LGA advantage. There is no visible road to compromise on that issue except secession.

That is the koko of the problem of Nigeria

Thank you our Nobel laureate

Bad news for the presidency.

Bitterness for Garba Shehu and Femi Adriana.

Sleepless night for Ambassador to Benin Republic.

Good PR for opposition party

The fulani oligarch will weep because of this.

Big shame to the DSS.

They may tag prof a terrorist or nihilist for this.

Self defence is 100% constituitional according to 1999 constituition. You have the right to defend yourself against external aggression with all means necessary , you also have the right to life and to protect your life with necessary force

I once told some people that they will be shocked that Igboho will be out of prison before Nnamdi Kanu and today here we are, Igboho is free and someone is still in prison. It is not about making noise but about high level strategies.
